Hannah clicked on Mel’s profile after sitting on the sofa for a while.
Mel, who was one of the Marshall family, was undoubtedly wealthy. Regardless, their relationship was so strong that Hannah
didn’t want to ask for help unless it was absolutely necessary.
Soon, Mel texted a response, ‘Hannah, I really want to help you. I really do, but recently, there have been some issues with the
Kaufmann Group. My father has already withdrawn all the money we can use and sent it to the Kaufmann family.
Hannah was aware of this matter as well. So, she didn’t say anything else and tossed her phone onto the sofa before releasing a
long sigh.
She never expected to find herself in this situation after all these.
The snoring in the bedroom ceased.
Not long after, Baxter’s bedroom door swung open years.
His hair was clearly disheveled as he walked out, and he was surprised to see Hannah sitting in the living room.
“Baby, why are you sitting here? It’s almost noon! Why didn’t you open the curtains?”
Hannah forced a smile and replied, “Just playing with my phone here.”
Baxter nodded and embraced her.
“Baby, I’ll go freshen up first. Why don’t you order some takeout for us to eat?”
She nodded and inquired, “What do you feel like eating?”
“Let’s have some Zettai cuisine.”
“Okay.”
As he went into the bathroom, she opened the food delivery app.
The Zettai cuisine restaurant that he favored was way above her budget at the moment. So, when she placed the order, she
couldn’t help but glance at the remaining money available in her debit account and fell into complete silence.

What am I going to do now?
By the time Baxter finished washing up and emerged from the bathroom, the food had already arrived. They placed the takeout
on the living room table, began eating, and exchanged sweet whispers.
Hannah, I believe our current life is already good. It will be even better when our bar opens.”
He picked up a piece of snail meat with his chopsticks and placed it in her bowl.
“People think I’m with you because of your family background. You don’t think that too, right?”
She simply smiled and said, ‘Of course not.”
He nodded when they were almost done with their meal and got up to leave.
“Hannah, I’m going out to have dinner with some friends.”
“Okay.”
As Baxter put on his coat, he hesitated. Usually, she would transfer money to him whenever he mentioned he had a meeting of

some sort.
But today...
Could this dumb girl have discovered something?
He tentatively said. “I’m going to the bar tonight. My friend promised to introduce me to the best sound system channel. I’ll have
to treat him to a meal again, but I’m a little short on money...”
She merely nodded, understanding the importance of the sound system for the bar.
“My phone is out of battery. I’ll call you when it’s charged.” She smiled.
He hummed in agreement before leaning over to give her a gentle kiss on the cheek before leaving.
The living room fell silent.
Hannah pursed her lips, realizing that she had already asked all her friends for money.

Yet, no one was willing to lend her any.
She could borrow a few thousand or even tens of thousands. Still, she had gone through so many people just so Baxter could go
out and meet with potential business partners how many times? Once or twice at most.
She could ask her mother, who would probably give her the money.
Nonetheless, she had her own principles. Since she had decided to run away from home, she couldn’t show even a sliver of
weakness or compromise!
Hannah’s gaze fell on the bag on the table.
It was the bag she had brought from home, a limited edition from a luxury brand. There were only three available in the world.
It had cost over a million.
Finally, she gritted her teeth and emptied the contents of the bag. Then, she carried it out of the door.
It was already late evening, and her face was flushed by the time she returned home.
This was her first time pawning something.
She had only managed to pawn the bag for 800,000 dollars, even though it had cost 1.8 million.
The pawnshop owner had even used a magnifying glass to inspect the bag, constantly pointing out its flaws.
Her temper almost made her take the bag back right then and there.
Still, she forced herself to endure it all for the sake of money.
It was the first time she had suffered for money. Yet, all she could do was remain silent.
Hannah sat on the sofa and transferred 750,000 to Baxter from the 800,000 she had received from pawning the bag.
She kept 50,000 for their future expenses.
They definitely couldn’t afford Zettai cuisine or those high-end Chinese restaurants anymore.
Hannah pondered for a moment, then got up and went to the grocery store.

She could cook for Baxter.
Hannah was covered in oil and smoke after spending her entire time slaving away in the kitchen. After three failed attempts, she
finally managed to place two plates of noodles on the table.

She waited at the table until 2 a.m., but the noodles had turned into a clump.
Baxter stumbled home, clearly intoxicated.
She was a little angry as he sat at the table with a cold expression.
When Baxter entered the house and saw Hannah, his benefactor, even though she didn’t know it, he immediately put on a fake
indulgent smile.
“Hannah, what are you doing?”
Hannah snorted coldly before saying snidely, “Waiting for you to come home for dinner. You didn’t even bother to inform me
when you wouldn’t be back.”
“I did tell you when I left. My friend wanted to discuss the sound system channel with me today,” Baxter smiled helplessly and
reached out to caress Hannah’s hair.
He looked at Hannah with an indulgent expression. “Alright, it’s all my fault, okay? Don’t be angry. I don’t like to see you with a
frown.”
Hannah remembered that Baxter had indeed mentioned it. So, she pursed her lips and pointed to the noodles on the table.
“I specifically went to buy groceries tonight and made fish soup noodles for you. You took so long to come home. Now, the
noodles are all clumped together.”
“Well, it’s a good thing that I’m starving, then.” Baxter smiled and picked up the plate.
Hannah quickly tried to stop him. “They’re cold.”
“I’ll eat them even if they’re cold. After all, you made them with your own hands.”
Baxter smiled as he ate the noodles, but he felt like throwing up as soon as the noodles landed on his tongue..

Why is it so tasteless? And there’s even a fishy smell!
Baxter inhaled deeply and forced himself to eat the meal, driven by the need for money and to please this naive girl.
Baxter gazed at Hannah in front of him after finishing the meal. Under the influence of alcohol, her beautiful face stirred his heart.
Due to Chris’ warning, he had refrained from making any advances toward her in the past.
After all, there were plenty of other women available. As long as Hannah provided him with money, he could find countless
women to lure into his bed.
However, a sudden desire overwhelmed Baxter, prompting him to embrace Hannah.
Unfortunately, the smell of oil and smoke emanating from her body quickly made him frown in disgust.
The women in the bar all carried various herbal sachets that emitted enticing scents. Yet, Hannah only smelled of fish and oil.
His desire for her significantly diminished.
“Alright, Hannah, I’ll return to the room and rest. I have to go to the bar tomorrow and meet a few DJs.”
Baxter kissed Hannah’s cheek before standing up to leave.
Hannah blushed as she watched Baxter leave just like that. It was obvious to her that he wanted to take their relationship to the
next level. Still, he forced himself to refrain and leave before he gave in to his impulses.
She didn’t doubt for a second that he cherished her dearly after that display.
Hannah noticed the noodles on the table and took a bite as her mind ran wild with her imagination.
The taste was so terrible that it immediately assaulted her senses. So, she darted to the trash can and vomited.
Once she had regurgitated all that foul food out from her body, she glanced at the empty plate that he had finished and smiled
with contentment.
She was sure of it. Everything she was doing right now was worth it.
