Chapter 900
Genevieve felt a sweet sensation in her heart. When she found out that he was not busy at work, she continued the
conversation. Genevieve: Are you the owner of the dessert shop?
Armand: Yes.
Genevieve: So, the dessert I ate every time was made by you?
Armand: Why? Are you craving it? I can make some for you tonight.
Genevieve: Sir, since when did you become so romantic? I want to kiss you so badly. I want you to feed me some
cake using your mouth.
Armand paused for some time before replying: Your mind is corrupted.
Though separated by a screen, Genevieve could imagine Armand rolling his eyes. She chuckled and rocked in her
seat. However, she stopped messing around, worried she would be in deep trouble that night if she continued
teasing him.
Around eleven-thirty in the morning, Genevieve left the office, packed lunch and a piece of a matcha-flavored

Harry was lying in bed watching a movie on his tablet that was placed on the table in front of him. His sullen
expression was instantly replaced by a smile the moment Genevieve entered the room.
“Hey, Genevieve,” he greeted.
Genevieve hummed in response and placed his lunch on the table.
She was about to put a fork into his right hand when she saw the bandage on his arm. Pausing for a while, she then
placed it into his left hand.
Harry glanced at her. Seeing her motionless, he had no choice but to take the fork and dig into his food.
Genevieve pulled up a chair and sat in it. “What did the doctor say?”
Harry swallowed the food before answering, “I can be discharged anytime, but I shouldn't go home just like that. I
might need to stay in Jadeborough for a few days.”
Genevieve took out her phone. “I'll book a hotel room for you. I won't have the time to take care of you since I've
got to take care of three children these days. I'll get you a suite and get the hotel to find you a butler. Just let them
know if there's anything you need to buy. I'll foot the bills.”
Harry looked a little disappointed, but he answered obediently. “Thanks, Genevieve.”
Genevieve then made a call to Lovely Heart Hotel and booked a suite within minutes.
When she put down her phone, she happened to see the city's trending news. According to the news, a certain
intersection collapsed, causing two cars to fall into the sinkhole. Most importantly, the hole was a few meters deep.
The two cars that fell into it were totally out of shape.
As Genevieve watched the footage, she realized the car plate of the first car looked familiar. To her dismay, it was
the official vehicle Armand took earlier.
Genevieve felt a chill in her limbs and her heart pounding with panic.
She shot to her feet, knocking over the chair in the process, and shot out of the ward without saying goodbye to
Harry. At the same time, she dialed Armand's number with trembling hands.
Armand said he was still in the government building earlier. Is someone else using the car?
Alas, no one answered the phone. It made Genevieve panic even more.
After leaving the hospital, she stepped on the accelerator and sped to the collapsed intersection. In the meantime,
she continued dialing Armand's number.
The intersection was not too far from the hospital. When she arrived in the vicinity, she saw rows of cars stopped in
front of her.

it.
Since the ground was still sinking, the firefighters who were carrying out the rescue mission urged the crowd to
move further away. Meanwhile, another firefighter had wrapped a rope around himself before leaping into the
sinkhole to rescue the victims.
Genevieve stood among the crowd and waited anxiously for some time before finally seeing someone being pulled
out of the sinkhole. The firefighters around the area quickly brought the victim to a safe area.
After seeing four to five people being brought out, Genevieve finally saw Armand being pulled out with the rope.
He was covered in mud, looking utterly disheveled.
When Genevieve saw no signs of blood on him, she heaved a sigh of relief. However, a firefighter accidentally
touched Armand's left arm, causing the latter to wince in pain.
“Mando...” Genevieve's heart tensed again, and she wanted to rush over.
Hearing Genevieve's voice, Armand glanced in her direction. He then pointed at his ear and then at the ground.
Genevieve understood what he meant. His phone was in the car. That was why he could not answer her calls.
He then shot her a look that indicated he was fine. Hence, she did not approach him and watched him being sent
off to the hospital along with the other victims.
