she comforted Queenie.

Queenie curled her lips into a sweet smile even though her following words were anything but honeyed. “Mrs. Payne, thank you for

your concern. Unfortunately, Leslie and | are not destined to be together, but | already have someone | like, so I'm also very eager

to call off the engagement.”
