Zoe chimed in again.

Maureen found Zoe's behavior utterly strange today, but she nodded at the elder’s suggestion.

“Okay. We'll buy gifts tomorrow for the Engagement Party.”

“Good.”

The corner of Geoffrey’s mouth lifted unconsciously. He felt grateful to Zoe, though puzzled by her sudden

support after weeks of criticizing him and the doctors.

“Zoe, lettake you back to your room to rest. The living room is drafty.”

Maureen wanted to ask Zoe privately what was wrong.

Zoe let her support her back. Once they reached the room, Maureen immediately closed the door.

“Why are you suddenly speaking up for Geoffrey?”

Zoe pretended to be puzzled: “I'm not speaking up for him. I'm just teaching you about etiquette. Even though

we're not as wealthy as the Sutton Family, we mustn't neglect proper etiquette.”

“Is that all?”

Maureen was a bit skeptical.

“Of course.”

Zoe looked serious.

Maureen didn’t press further. She held Zoe's wrinkled hand: “In a couple of days, I've invited a foreign medical

expert to examine you. | hear every patient he treats lives to be a hundred.”

After returning, Maureen hadn't been idle. While busy with other things, she privately contacted experts in

geriatric medicine to come.

No matter what, she didn’t want to see Zoe leave her.

This time, she finally managed to invite a famous foreign expert team.

Zoe knew Maureen was joking.

Maureen's eyes welled up, fighting back tears.

“Nonsense. You'll see Jacob and Ethan grow up, watch them marry and have children. You'll be their great-

Zoe's eyes shimmered with hope at Maureen's words.

Of course she wanted that, but knew her body wouldn't hold out much longer.

Having lived this long with someone like a daughter to her, she felt content.

Her only worry now was Reenie being alone.

Days ago, Zoe had noticed Geoffrey likely regained smemories, realized he never owed debts, and saw how

he wanted to stay with Maureen.

Though mostly in her room, she knew that foreign specialist cbecause Geoffrey helped.

Other things too-she’d seen it all. Geoffrey truly had changed.

“Alright, Ill hold on to see them married.”

“Mm.”

Maureen nodded: “I'll have the specialist cthe day after tomorrow to examine you.

“Alright.”

Maureen felt relieved. After helping Zoe settle in bed, she left to contact specialists outside.

After she left, a knock cat Zoe's door.

Geoffrey stepped inside.

“Thank you.”

She'd intervened only because she saw Maureen still cared for Geoffrey, and because he’d changed.

“I understand. I'll treat Reenie right.”

Maureen stood nearby, approaching just as she heard him asking Wayne about gift suggestions.

She couldn't help but cringe. Even amnesiac and no longer the big boss, he still acted like one. Wayne promptly

sent over a proper gift list-all they needed was to purchase accordingly.

“Buying this much? Should've asked Justin to help carry things.”

Mentioning Justin made Geoffrey immediately jealous. “I'll carry them,” he insisted.

Maureen was taken aback.
