Chapter 402
Not long after Madelyn entered the teahouse, a luxury car arrived at the entrance.
The driver opened the car door, and a pair of fair and slender legs stepped out.
Jane was wearing a black leather jacket and a short skirt. Coupled with a pair of high heels, her attire
showed off her curvaceous figure perfectly. Her jet-black hair was scattered loosely, looking every bit
charming and gorgeous.
She removed her sunglasses and kept them in her pocket. With one hand in her pocket, Jane walked
into the teahouse looking very cool.
The manager of the teahouse knew that Jane, Yale’s junior would be meeting the chairman of the Crown
Group, Micheal that day. He had come to the shop especially to host them and to ensure that there were
no mishaps. He led Jane into the private room.
Micheal’s expression changed when he saw Jane.
“I’m sorry, I was held up by something at the last minute. I hope I haven’t kept Mr. Laton waiting.”
“Not at all. After all, I was the one who asked you out. I’m happy to wait, no matter how long it takes.
Please take a seat.”
Micheal’s tone was even. He smiled meaningfully. No one could guess what he was
thinking.
Though intelligent, Jane was not capable of knowing what someone was thinking just by looking at their
eyes or expression.
This was especially true for cunning men like Michael.
Meanwhile, in the room next door, Madelyn could finally remove her mask so she could breathe better.
While she chatted with Chester, she also took photos of the place. She wanted to post her review about
the teahouse on her social media account.
“Chester’s suggestion is really good. The surrounding is pleasant, and the tea is very fragrant.
She then posted her review online.
Just then, Madelyn heard voices coming from the next room.

about.
Her intention was to try and uncover any of Jane’s secrets.
That would be her lucky moment.
The gods had presented such a golden opportunity to her.
Madelyn was amazed at her resourcefulness.
Madelyn’s efforts were not in vain. She could hear the conversation next door very clearly.
Next door in the private room, Jane smiled faintly and sat on the chair. Micheal stood up and served her
some tea. “Miss Jane, tea brewing is a special skill. Since you have chosen to meet at this place, you
must be interested in the art of tea brewing.”
“No, I simply used my phone to find a suitable place. The rating for this place is rather high. Besides, the
location is very central. I don’t have to travel too far to come here.”
Micheal’s hand that was holding the teapot paused in mid-air. Jane’s response showed she did not take
this meeting with Micheal seriously. To her, it was just a casual meetup. He smiled. “Miss Fowler, you can
really joke.”
“Mr. Laton, let’s not beat around the bush. Why did you ask me here? We only met once that night. I
can’t figure out why you want to meet me. Please tell me the reason.”
Jane went straight to the point.
Micheal felt a chill run down his spine when he met Jane’s calm gaze.
For the first time in Micheal’s life, he had met with an aloofness from a 20-year-old girl.
He thought, “She’s truly worthy of being Mr. Mitchell’s junior. Jack Fowler, you’re really ****to have given
up this precious gem.”
Madelyn’s heart skipped a beat.
Did Jane address the person as ‘Mr. Laton’?
Was Jane with Chester?
On second thoughts, she thought that the man did not sound like Chester.
The voice was mature and charming.
It sounded similar to Jack.
The calm and confident voice must belong to someone very experienced and knowledgeable.
Madelyn imagined that the other party must have a successful career with high status in society. He must
also certainly possess good looks.

She then let out a curse. Was this another man whom Jane seduced? Were they here for al rendezvous?
Jane had already bewitched Yale, Hugh, Connor, and Robert. Why was she still flirting around and
seducing every man she met?
Madelyn was filled with envy and hatred. She was about to shed tears of blood.
However, Madelyn started thinking.
If Jane was indeed meeting another man, it would give Madelyn the opportunity to take incriminating
photos.
She would send the photos to Hugh and the other men. That would show them what a cheap woman

Everything would then go back to normal. Madelyn could return to the Fowler family as their beloved
daughter. She would be the center of attention once again. Her carefree and happy days were coming
back.
Madelyn felt tempted when she thought of this possibility.
She figured that if she continued to stay in the room, she would not have any opportunity to take the
photos.
She had to find a place outside to take the photos in secret.
Madelyn knew it would be very dangerous for her to do so.
She might be caught if she was not careful. That would create more trouble for her. However, if she did
not seize this opportunity, her whole life would be crushed by Jane. She might never have a chance to
turn things around again.
She reasoned to herself, “Madelyn Fowler, this is your last chance. You have to be brave. Your future will
be bright if you succeed.
“You have to take some risk when dealing with an enemy like Jane.”
Madelyn tried to convince herself to take action.
Just then, she heard a voice from the room again.
“All right, since Miss Fowler is so direct, I’ll be honest with you too.”
Micheal made a cup of coffee for Jane before saying, “I want to have a mutually beneficial and win-win
cooperation with Miss Fowler.”
Jane pursed her lips. “Tell me about your plans.”
“I wish to acknowledge Miss Fowler as my goddaughter, the daughter of the Crown Group can give you
all the resources from the Crown Group. As long as it’s not too much, I’ll let
Miss Fowler use whatever you need. In exchange, I need your identity to be associated with
the Crown Group.”
