Chapter 298 "Let's stick with your usual choices. They can never go wrong," Noelle replied. Cedric handed the menu back to the manager. "Go with what she suggested." The manager glanced curiously at Noelle. She seemed unfamiliar, and his relationship with Cedric intrigued him. But he soon snapped out of it and asked, "As for drinks, the usual wine?" Cedric rejected the suggestion without hesitation. "No alcohol. Just bring sfruit juices or soft drinks." The manager nodded and left cautiously with the menu.
Cedric turned his gaze to Noelle. "Why did you ask to meet Alfred?" He knew her well enough to understand she wouldn't invite Alfred out for a casual meal without a good reason.
After a brief pause, Noelle answered, "I've been appointed captain of Team Yole." "Congratulations, Nelly! That's great news, definitely worth celebrating." Noelle nodded. "Yeah. it's something to celebrate." Cedric's eyes remained fixed on her as he asked, "Is that all? Nothing else to it?" "Nope. It's just dinner. Right now you're the only two friends I have." Noelle subconsciously avoided mentioning the investment.

Cedric's tone was light but direct. "You have another reason for meeting Alfred, don't you?" "Fine, you're right. I wanted to discuss the Al project. I think Donovan plans to take action against Maple Enterprise, so I thought it'd be good to strategize in advance." "Don't worry about that. Alfred isn't a fool." Noelle guiltily lowered her head to sip her water.
"How are you adjusting to school life?" Cedric asked.
"Pretty well. I've made new friends and settled into a new routine. Like you said before, college life is vibrant and exciting." A genuine smile lit up Noelle's face as she spoke about university.
But Cedric suddenly didn't want to hear any more about it. He got up. "I noticed you seemed interested in the courtyard earlier. Do you wanna take a look?" "Sure!" Noelle readily agreed. She was eager for sdistraction.
They walked downstairs to the yard and strolled side by side but kept a deliberate distance. They were not too close or far; just the right distance.
Noelle quickened her pace and intentionally widened the gap between them. She admired the surroundings and remarked, "The atmosphere is so unique. It feels like any random picture would make for a great composition." Cedric trailed a few steps behind and described the scenery.
When Noelle arrived at a small arched bridge, she noticed a pond below where bright red goldfish swam gracefully.

"Thanks," Noelle murmured. Her cheeks were slightly flushed.
Cedric quickly let go. "No need to thank me. I was just worried you'd scare the goldfish if you fell in."
Noelle rolled her eyes playfully.
"Thanks a lot for going out of your way to insult me!" Ske rubbed her wrist and decided that she felt more comfortable getting along with the sharp-tongued Cedric. After circling the courtyard, they returned to the starting point.
A young man approached from the hallway and walked straight toward Cedric. "Ced, what are you doing here?" Noelle looked up and found the young man familiar. She blurted out, "Aren't you Magnus, captain of Team Celestial?" But why did he seem so close to Cedric from the way he addressed the latter?
Magnus froze when he saw Noelle and tically covered his mouth in shock "Aren't you SweetNelly, the livestreamer?"
But what was she doing at L Bistro with Cedric? Were they on a date? Or perhaps, did this mean they were about to get married? Noelle seemed surprised. "You know me?" "It's tough not to!" Magnus blurted out. Noelle was his future sister-in-law, after all!
