As for Julia Wayne, the moment she got home, she told her family all about what just happened.
Unsurprisingly, her parents were both in total shock while her older brother flew into a rage, yelling at
her for being such a dimwitted m oron and scolding her for being so st upid as to offend Jackson Valor
out of all people.
They were even more enraged when they found out that she had done all of that for the sake of Zandra
Lane, but in the end, Zandra had completely distanced herself from julia and washed her hands off the
whole thing.
The Wayne family had been in turmoil lately because of tax problems, and they were reluctant to attend
the function because they were afraid that the reporters would be there and they would surely be
hounded by them. That was why they had let Julia attend it alone-because she had little to nothing to
do with the family business, and she might even be able to persuade her friends, Zandra and Yuna, to
help the family as well. But who would have thought that things would end up in such a mess?!
“But I did all of that to help our family!” Julia argued. “At worst, we’ll just have to go meet Serenity Lewis
and apologize to her.”
She had a hunch that if she was able to meet Serenity and own up to her mistake in person, this whole
matter might end, and everything would turn out fine.
