Chapter 744

There was no response. Sunlight filled the room with warmth, while William's hunched back conveyed a sense of

loneliness.

Sarah had just finished dealing with sstudents’ psychological issues. She didn't need to go to Pine Mist

Island Resort these days, as it had temporarily closed.

Before leaving work, she gathered her things, ready to head hwhere Mia was waiting for her.

Just as she stepped out of her office, she spotted Zachary waving at her conspicuously.

It was dismissal time, and when the young girls saw Zachary, their cheeks flushed pink. They seemed eager to

approach him for his contact information, but when they saw him waving at Sarah, most understood the

situation. They looked at Sarah with envy, swith outright jealousy.

Sarah tried to pretend she didn't know him and walk past, but Zachary blocked her path directly.

"Sasa?"

Sarah walked faster and faster while Zachary awkwardly chased after her. Finally, he managed to run in front of

her.

"Why are you running away?"

Sarah took a deep breath. "Mr. Reynolds, is there something you need?"

Zachary spoke gently, "I wanted to ask about Mia's condition."

"I've been treating her since the day we saw her. She's still in the stabilization phase and needs more time. But

there's something important you should know." Her gaze turned sharp.

Zachary sensed something unusual. "What is it?"

Sarah looked at him intently. "The psychological trauma Mia experienced before hasn't completely healed. With

these repeated episodes whether accidental or deliberately induced-she can't handle any more stress. Her

nerves are highly sensitive, like a tightly strung violin string that will snap at the slightest touch." Seeing her

serious expression, Zachary understood the gravity of the situation.

"I understand. This won't happen again."

Sarah nodded.

"If there's nothing else, I'll be going now."

Zachary opened and closed his mouth several times. It wasn't until Sarah turned

to leave that he suddenly called out her name.

"Yes?" Sarah turned back, puzzled.

Zachary hurried over to her again. "I've canceled the engagement."

Sarah stood still, responding without surprise. "The entire East Coast probably knows that by now."

All the words Zachary had wanted to say suddenly failed him when he saw Sarah's cold face. Her eyes showed

no joy, only indifference.

He began to wonder if he had been wrong from the beginning.

Even though he had personally canceled the engagement that should never have happened, he couldn't erase

the misunderstandings and scars.

"Mr. Reynolds, if there's nothing else, | need to go home." She lowered her head.

Zachary frowned slightly and pulled her to his car.

"Have you lost your mind, Zachary? Letgo! You're insane!"

He dragged Sarah to the parking lot and pressed her against the car door. Sarah struggled violently, seeming to

guess what he was about to do. "Letgo! You've gone crazy, Zachary!"

Zachary's eyes were bloodshot, as if he'd lost all reason. He restrained her arm with one hand while holding her

head with the other, and kissed her forcefully.

Her mouth filled with his taste as he kissed her domineeringly.

Sarah fought desperately, but her arms were firmly pinned.

Zachary continued kissing her intensely, breathing heavily. Sarah steeled herself and bit down hard.

The taste of iron filled her mouth as the sweet, metallic blood mingled with her breath.

Zachary groaned in pain and instinctively backed away, releasing her.
