Chapter 747
If she was determined to go through with it, he was willing to stay by her side.
"You seem different than before," Sarah said thoughtfully.
Zachary put out his cigarette. "Different how?"
"In the past, whenever | mentioned my lost memories, you would always avoid the topic or play dumb. But now
you're offering to go with me. If you're not againstsearching for my memories, why won't you just tell me
directly?" Sarah's eyes were full of curiosity.
Zachary froze for a few seconds, no longer able to meet Sarah's gaze. He was only willing to accompany her
because he knew she wouldn't find anything even if she went.
He had already sent people to search through all of Adams University's archives.
The night air was getting colder, and the tip of Zachary's nose had turned slightly red.
But those eyes of his she couldn't help but keep looking at them.

She quickly lowered her head. "You should go hnow."
"Sasa, | know we can't ignore what happened, but | still want to say that I'll make
it up to you. Just please stop avoiding me," he said, sounding hurt.
Sarah didn't know how to respond, but then he spoke again.
"After breaking off the engagement with Vivian, she'll likely beceven crazier. I've arranged for people to
protect you secretly. Please don't refuse."
Sarah frowned slightly, understanding what Zachary meant.
Just then, she suddenly sneezed.
Only now did Zachary notice her red nose, and said with a touch of guilt, "You should go inside."
"Then you should go home. Having someone standing outside my building staring at my window will keep me
from sleeping." And she'd find it hard to feel at peace.
Zachary finally agreed. "I'll watch you go in first."
The night was as dark as ink. A cold breeze blew past as Sarah hugged her arms and ran back into the building.
She went straight to her room and instinctively pulled back the curtain to see Zachary waving at her once more
before getting into his car and driving away.
She sighed with relief. Just as she lay down, her phone rang. It was Zachary calling.
After answering, he said only one thing before hanging up.
"Sasa, good night."
By the tshe shook off her drowsiness and realized what had happened, the call had already ended.
The impact of the canceled engagement on Vivian was easy to imagine. Even at social events, she could hear
people's mockery and cold remarks. They called her two-faced, a discarded woman who deserved to be
abandoned...
People said all sorts of things, but what she found most unbearable was hearing that Zachary had canceled the
engagement largely because of Sarah.
Not long ago, everyone online had been calling Sarah a homewrecker who had cbetween childhood
sweethearts. Now, seemingly overnight, public opinion had shifted.
The engagement party absolutely could not be canceled!
She had tried to speak with William, but he refused to see her and wouldn't even take her calls.
While thinking of a new plan, she hadn't forgotten about the West Ridge incident. She wanted to know how much
Zachary had discovered.
The next evening, after Sarah finished a consultation with a student, someone walked into her counseling office.
She didn't need to look up; just from the faint scent, she knew who it was.
Only Zachary would chere at this time.
"Mr. Reynolds, | haven't finished work yet."
Zachary sat down across from Sarah as if he hadn't heard her. "Surely Adams University's counseling services
are open to members of the board of directors?"
Sarah recalled how he had pretended to have psychological issues last time. Was he using the strick again?
"Of course. But | hope you're not here about another heartbreak, Mr. CEO?"
Zachary shook his head. "I've been having the snightmare for days. Darkness everywhere, with no
boundaries. | can hear her voice but can't see her. Then suddenly it's daylight, and a car runs over her again and
again. | run desperately toward her, but the distance between us never gets any smaller."
