Chapter 748
Sarah began to take him seriously but still asked uncertainly, "Who is 'she'?"
"My mother."
"Have you discovered the truth?"
Zachary nodded. "Yes. That day at West Ridge, do you remember?"
He accepted the glass of water Sarah handed him and began speaking, almost to himself. "There was a factory
hidden at the foot of West Ridge that suffered a devastating explosion. It was ordered directly by Mr. Wilson to
cover up the fact they were selling fake medicine. The destroyed factory and the dead workers were all meant to
hide this truth. My mother was investigating this when Mr. Wilson targeted her. They called it an accident, but it
was absolutely deliberate."
This was the first the had been completely honest with Sarah, and she finally learned the truth.
She looked at Zachary's grave and exhausted face. Was this what he meant when he said the thad come?
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtBased on what Zachary had just told her, she already had a guess. "She died in a car accident?"
"Yes." Zachary's expression darkened.
The nightmare he'd had last night had kept him tossing and turning, unable to sleep.
In his dreams, the car ran over her again and again, the nightmare repeating endlessly.
Sarah noticed the exhaustion around his eyes, the puffy bags beneath them, and the dark circles. He probably
hadn't slept well for days, or perhaps had been living in nightmares every night since returning from West Ridge.
What he needed most right now was sleep.
Sarah guided him to the couch and took out a pocket watch to hypnotize him.
After the watch swung for the last time, Zachary fell into a deep sleep.
Sarah brought out a blanket and covered him. "Get sgood rest."
In his sleep, Zachary once again found himself on that wide road, watching helplessly as his mother drove
forward and a large truck crashed into the side of her car.
He was about to scream when he heard someone calling his name.
"Zachary, don't get trapped in there."
When he woke up, the sky outside the consultation room had already grown dark, showing that school had been
out for quite stime.
Sarah was at her desk, head propped up by her hand, eyes half-closed. She must have been exhausted these
past few days too.
He let out a heavy sigh. How wonderful it would be if tcould just stand still.
In Deep Alley, a woman carrying the latest designer handbag walked into the most popular bar.
She sat in a booth, looking around as if searching for someone.
Just then, a handsman approached her. "Ma'am, please follow me."
The woman followed him without suspicion to the second floor.
In the furthest private room, only a dim light was on. She could barely see how many people were inside.
She nervously hurried in, and the door closed behind her.
Then the brightest lights were switched on, revealing a woman sitting on the center sofa.
"It's you?!"
She recognized this woman as the manager of the holiday resort on Pine Mist Island, who had been questioned
by the police.
Sarah wore a faint smile. “Judy Markers, I've finally found you."
In the murder case at the resort, the victim was Yvonne, and the woman who discovered her dead in her room
was none other than Judy.
"Why is it you? How can it be you?" Judy's eyes widened in disbelief that Sarah was standing before her.
When she cto her senses, she immediately tried to push the door open to escape, but it was firmly locked.
No matter how much she wanted to leave, she couldn't.
