Chapter 754
Beyond her, there had always been a backup plan.
And the Wilson family had never truly been hers. Even though she had fortified it over these past few months,
the Wilson family still belonged to her grandfather.
With just one word from him, she would be nothing.
Only when she arrived at the police station did she fully grasp her situation. "What crhave | committed?"
The police officer replied coldly, "The death at Pine Mist Island Resort."
She laughed loudly. "Why arrest me? What does it have to do with me?"
"You think the police don't monitor information online? We watched that entire livestream. We even had
psychologists analyze Judy's mental state and confirm she was telling the truth," the officer said.
Vivian's smile vanished. She said icily, "Do you have any evidence? Are the police now making cases based
solely on one woman's words? When did you becso careless?"
She understood that the livestream had created too much impact. Even if someone wanted to protect her, it
wouldn't be easy.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHer grandfather had promised to help her, but she didn't know when he would act.
As they led her to the interrogation room, she suddenly stopped at the doorway and looked outside. In the night
sky, only a lonely crescent moon hung above, with no stars in sight.
Sarah, having just finished a hypnotherapy session with Mia, stretched lazily. Looking at Mia's peaceful sleeping
face, her previously furrowed brow now relaxed, Sarah finally felt relieved.
Mia's trauma had deepened. Sarah's hypnosis could no longer help her remember her earliest experiences.
She couldn't handle any more stress, or the consequences would be
unimaginable.
Stepping out of the room, she saw Melvin waiting for her.
"You did well tonight," Melvin praised.
Sarah shook her head with a sigh. "I arrived at the hotel at the stas them. If | had paid more attention,
perhaps this wouldn't have happened. At least Yvonne wouldn't have had to die."
Though Yvonne's death wasn't her fault, it was still a life lost.
Melvin led her to the back garden. They sat on a swing chair under the bright moonlight, with flowers giving off a
unique fragrance.
"Sasa, this isn't your fault. It has nothing to do with you. Besides, that woman was going to die anyway. At least
now that money is at the hospital, and her mother won't have to die," Melvin said thoughtfully.
Sarah gave Melvin a strange look and said seriously, "Melvin, when you say things like that, you're thinking just
like Vivian and Judy. That's wrong."
If everyone thought that way, the world would fall into chaos.
Melvin smiled self-mockingly. "It seems I'm not as good as you."
"From Judy and her mother's perspective, it might seem justified, but we can't becpeople like that-like
Vivian or Judy," Sarah said.
Melvin said gravely, "Vivian has been sent to prison. She's being interrogated now."
Sarah raised an eyebrow. "I'm surprised Mr. Wilson is willing to let her go."
Melvin sneered, "What choice does he have? Too many people saw the livestream. Even if he wants to protect
Vivian, he can't be too obvious about it-at least not right now."
In an old apartment complex, Judy huddled in her bedroom scrolling through her phone. The moment she left the
bar, she had noticed people's curious stares. She hadn't understood why until she got hand her supervisor
called to fire her.
