Chapter 279
Nigel knew he couldn't act impulsively, so he took a deep breath and slowly sat back down.
"Mr. Hansen Senior, so you agreed!" Black Widow exclaimed, gesturing to her underlings and saying, "Bring it
in!"
Black Widow snapped her fingers toward the door, and soon, several black-clad assassins entered the
conference room carrying large boxes.
"What is this?"
Both Nigel and Brigham frowned at the sight of the boxes, and Jimmy and the others becmore alert.
"Don't be nervous; these are all things that Mr. Hansen Senior likes!" Black Widow said with a smile, instructing
the assassins.

"Open them up!"
"Yes!"
The assassins complied and opened the boxes. Everyone leaned in to look inside, only to be dazzled by the
brilliant light emanating from them.
Inside were precious antique treasures.
The first box was filled with scrolls and paintings, clearly framed from before the Victorian Era.
The second box contained valuable medicinal herbs-many rarely seen on the market and could fetch at least
several million at an auction.
The third box held a statue of emerald, standing nearly half a meter tall.
Nigel had built his reputation on emeralds and naturally recognized the immense value of this piece.
The last box was significantly smaller than the previous ones, but what it contained was worth more than all
three boxes combined. Lying on black satin was a pitch-black dagger adorned with intricate ancient patterns.
"This is..." Nigel's eyes widened as he instinctively held his breath.
"A dagger from a warrior's burial site of the Bronze Age!"
Nigel had always been fond of collecting antiques and had extensively researched such artifacts to recognize the
dagger's origin immediately. However, he would need to examine it more closely to confirm its authenticity.
Still, based on what he knew about Black Widow, she wouldn't bother bringing him a fake to buy his favor. After
all, Nigel was a well-known expert in artifact appraisal
in Havaria and was often called upon by official museums for his expertise.
"If Black Widow had ulterior motives, it would be like showing off her incompetence right before me-how foolish
that would be."
"I've heard that you enjoy collecting antiques. This dagger was specially acquired
from an overseas auction house and is definitely a genuine artifact from the Bronze Age," Black Widow said with
a smirk.
Yolanda was also intrigued by the dagger but noticed something even more interesting while studying it.
Just as she was keenly observing the dagger, Nigel spoke up again. "You've gone to such great lengths-
threatening and bribing-what exactly do you want?"
"It's simple. Mr. Shaw wants to return to Riverdale and hopes Mr. Hansen Senior can agree."
"Cayden Shaw wants to cback?" Nigel scoffed. "Don't think I'll agree to that. Even if | did, other forces in
Riverdale wouldn't allow it!"
"Mr. Hansen Senior, you're not getting any younger. Don't be so stubborn." Black Widow chuckled lightly and
continued to persuade him.
"Mr. Shaw no longer has such grand ambitions. He just wants to return for a peaceful retirement. Allowing him to
return won't disrupt the current power structure in Riverdale-rest assured!"
