Chapter 280
"Now | understand why Riverdale has been so unstable lately. First, | was poisoned out of nowhere, and then that
kid from the Wright family had an accident. It turns out you're the ones stirring up trouble!" Nigel exclaimed.
Black Widow did not refute Nigel's words, nor did she confirm that their Serpent Alliance was involved in his
poisoning or Zach's assassination attempt.
"He seemed to be doing quite well outside; why would he want to return to a small place like Riverdale?" Nigel
pressed further.
"Mr. Shaw is, after all, from Riverdale. It's not strange for him to feel nostalgic. He was forced to leave Riverdale,
and if he can't return honorably, he won't be able to swallow that bitterness!" Black Widow answered.
"Those who died unjustly would surely be restless if he comes back!" Nigel slammed the table. "Has he forgotten
what he did before? How dare he talk about being unable to return?" he added.
"Mr. Hansen Senior, everyone has their own ambitions. You don't need to be so harsh." Black Widow's smile

"Is indiscriminate killing what you call ambition?" Nigel's gaze turned colder.
"I know Cayden's character too well. A dog can't change its nature. | don't believe he would suddenly change if
he returned to Riverdale!"
"Mr. Hansen Senior!" Black Widow frowned.
"Enough! | will not agree to this matter. Even if | did, Vic and Lloyd would never agree either. Are you planning to
threaten them one by one until they comply? Do you have that capability?" Nigel's stance was clear-he would not
back down.
"Instead of wasting there, you might as well advise him not to have unrealistic fantasies! He will never have
another chance to enter Riverdale again! Since he's getting older, he should enjoy his life abroad and stop
causing trouble," Nigel bellowed.
Black Widow sighed helplessly, seeming like she wanted to persuade him further but was interrupted by Nigel.
"Let's not say more. The goods you stole must be returned within a week, along with the bodies of my men and
their compensation-nothing less! Moreover, after a week, you and your people must leave Riverdale. Otherwise,
don't blme for being rude!" Nigel exclaimed.
"I believe even if you are unaware of my methods, Mr. Shaw should be cautious!" he added.
"lI understand." Black Widow had intended to say more but ultimately restrained her anger.
"However, Mr. Hansen Senior, these items are a token of Mr. Shaw's goodwill. We may not be business partners,
but please accept these gifts! Otherwise, | won't be able to explain myself to Mr. Shaw when | return!"
"And regarding the troubles caused to the Hansen Group, these items are my way of expressing my apologies on
behalf of Mr. Shaw." As she spoke, Black Widow
gestured for the assassins to bring the boxes closer to Nigel.
Nigel didn't immediately refuse or accept; in fact, he hesitated.
While he didn't care much for the other items, that Bronze Age dagger was indeed
a rare treasure. Having collected antiques for half his life, he knew none of his possessions could compare to this
artifact.
At that moment, Yolanda stood up and walked over to the boxes, bending down to examine and sort through the
treasures inside.
Seeing Yolanda's actions made Nigel think she was also interested in these items. After hesitating for a moment
longer, he finally nodded.
"Fine, then. Let this serve as compensation for the troubles caused to Hansen Group!"
After saying this, he looked at Brigham. He instructed, "Choose svaluable items from these boxes and send
them to the victims' families along with an additional one million dollars in compensation for each family."
"Understood!" Brigham nodded.
"Wait a minute!"
