Chapter 377
"Cwithto greet Mrs. Tacheny and Mrs. Harper!" Florence snapped.
Perhaps Florence spoke too loudly, as the tall young man walking in their direction glanced over in surprise.
When he saw Carrie, he gave her a slight nod.
Carrie's face flushed bright red. Flustered, she waved at him and quickly lowered her head, hurrying to walk
beside Florence.
"Jared, why are you so late?" A curly-haired woman chatting with Diana noticed the tall young man and quickly
went up to him.
"Letintroduce you to my friends!" She took Jared by the arm and led him over to Diana.
"Mrs. Henderson, this is my son, Jared Loake."

"Hello, Mrs. Henderson," Jared said, forcing a smile as he greeted Diana.
"Mrs. Loake, is this the son you always talk about?" Diana scanned Jared with a satisfied smile. "He certainly
looks quite dashing!"
"I'll go get my daughter Yolanda. You young people should chat more," Diana said, instinctively glancing around
her.
She had been so caught up in the compliments from the other socialites that she hadn't noticed where Yolanda
had gone.
"Where has that child gone?" Diana muttered in annoyance before turning to Jared and Roan Whitaker. "Wait
here. I'll go find her."
With that, Diana began searching the banquet hall. After ten minutes, she finally spotted Yolanda in a corner
enjoying ssnacks by herself.
"Yolanda! Chere!" Diana's expression brightened slightly. Not wanting to embarrass herself in front of
everyone, she approached Yolanda with a forced patience.
Yolanda had just finished a piece of tiramisu and was wiping her mouth with a napkin.
"All
you do is eat all day!" Diana complained in exasperation. "Cwith me. | want you to meet someone!"
Yolanda stood up and followed Diana into the crowd.
Diana brought Yolanda back into the guests.
"Yolanda, letintroduce you; this is Jared, the son of the owner of Loake Corporation, and this is Mrs. Loake,
Jared's mother."
Without thinking much about it, Yolanda greeted them. "Hello, I'm Yolanda."
"Ms. Henderson is elegant and gracious-so smart and sensible," Roan smiled as she complimented Yolanda.
"Mrs. Henderson must have taught her well. She's not like my son, who still needs guidance at this age."
"Jared is quite impressive as well; no need for modesty, Mrs. Loake I'm quite pleased with him!" Although Diana
spoke kindly, her voice had an underlying tone of superiority.
"I heard the seafood salad here is excellent. Mrs. Loake, would you accompanyto get some?" After sizing
Roan again, Diana turned to Yolanda and said, "Yolanda, stay here and keep Jared company."
With that, Diana and Roan exchanged smiles and linked arms as they headed toward the buffet area.
Yolanda furrowed her brow slightly. Diana's behavior was indeed odd.
Even if she didn't have tfor Jared, there was no need to insist that Yolanda keep him company.
Listening to how Diana had spoken with Roan earlier made Yolanda understand the situation.
Sure enough, when she looked up at the young man standing before her again, she saw impatience flickering in
his eyes.
