Chapter 141 I Don’t Want to Remarry Joshua

Karley tricked Anaya into coming today because Karley wanted Anaya to see how she, Karley, the one

with ties of kinship with the Lomas family, was treated.

Karley was more than happy to see that Anaya was willing to stay.

“Then sit beside me.”

“Sure.”

Anaya sat next to Karley.

Kelton whispered in Anaya’s ear, “My parents said that they wanted to see what Karley looked like, so

they asked her to come. Don’t think too much about it. I will always be your brother!”

Anaya felt her heart warm, yet she pushed him away in disgust. “Stay away from me. You have bad

breath.”

Kelton was somewhat depressed. “I chew gum every day…”

Terry Lomas, Kelton’s father, asked the two of them, “What are you two whispering about?”

Anaya said, “We’re discussing what to get you for your birthday next month. I heard your pen was lost,

and I want to

send you a new one.”

“That’s very thoughtful of you,” Terry said with a smile.

Karley scoffed silently.

Karley thought, Anaya, you are the daughter of the Dutt family. How are you not embarrassed by

sending him such a cheap thing? A pen? Really?

Karley said to Terry, “Terry, do you want a watch from Petrus? I can give you one on your birthday. You

can easily check the time when you’re in class.”

Terry turned her down politely, “You don’t have to do that. It’s too expensive.”

“It’s not expensive at all. It’s just a watch worth hundreds of thousands of dollars. It’s nothing for me.”

When she said this, Karley’s eyes were full of pride.

Terry was silent. Kelton knew that Karley was showing off and said impatiently, “My father is a senior

teacher in a key high school. The school is strict with bribery. Do you want him to get investigated by

sending him a watch worth hundreds of thousands of dollars?

“Karley, I know that you are very happy that you become the daughter of the Dutt family overnight, but

you should still watch your mouth. Don’t show off at any time, anywhere.

They started to dig in. Laila put some beef on Anaya’s plate. “Anaya, you should eat more. Mr. Dutt

said that you have been dealing with a lot recently. You are even skinnier now. Eat more meat!”

Anaya smiled and said, “Thank you, Laila.”

Terry and Kelton also chatted with Anaya while eating.

They talked about funny things that had happened in the past. Karley wasn’t part of their lives, so she

naturally didn’t have any common topics with them. She sat next to them the entire time like she was

invisible, and she was about to flip out.

Karley couldn’t stand being left out. In the middle of the meal, she found an excuse and left.

The people present weren’t stupid. They could tell what Karley was thinking.

Laila sighed and said, “I didn’t want to be so mean to her. But she’s got a little too much on her mind.”

Karley happened to be her biological niece.

Laila had a bad feeling. Trouble awaited them.

Kelton said to Anaya, “If she tricks you again, tell me. There will be consequences!”

Though Karley was the one who was related to Kelton, in his eyes, she was no better than a stranger.

Kelton preferred Anaya to be his sister.

“OK,” Anaya couldn’t help but smile.

After dinner, they left the room.

As soon as they went out, the door of the next room was opened.

Joshua and his family walked out.

The two groups of people’s eyes met, yet neither of them said hi.

The Maltz family had been looking down on the Lomas family, while Laila and Terry disliked Joshua’s

personality. Since the moment Anaya and Joshua divorced, the Lomas family had broken up with the

Maltz family.

The two groups of people went to the end of the corridor to wait for the elevator.

The atmosphere was very quiet. Lexie broke the silence and said, “Anaya, so you came to eat with the

Lomas family.

What a coincidence.”

feelings for him.”

Joshua turned his head to stare at Anaya, his face gloomy.

Anaya ignored his gaze and entered the elevator first after it came up.

After they went down to the underground parking lot, the Lomas family got into their car, and Anaya

went to look for

her car.

Just as she opened the car door, someone called out to her, “Anaya, wait.”

Anaya turned around and saw Cecilia walking towards her.

“Mrs. Maltz, what‘s the matter?”

“Did you see the news that Joshua and Lexle are cetting married?” Cecilia stopped in front of Anaya.

“I saw it before. Why?”

Cecilia hesitated for a moment before asking, “I have something to ask you. If I give you a chance, do

you want to go back to our family?”

“Achance?” Anaya curled up her lips meaningfully. “This word is only used when the situation is

advantageous to oneself. You use this word because you think I still want to remarry Joshua?

“If memories serve correctly, I made it very clear to you last time that I‘m not interested in your high–fed

son. I don‘t care who he marries! It has nothing to do with me!”

“You didn‘t mean that,” Cecilia said. “I know you can‘t get over Joshua, Otherwise, why are you always

around him and Lexie?

“Lexie and I had a fallout recently. I will not have her in our family. But I cannot confront her for personal

reasons.

“If you want to remarry Joshua, I can help you in private. Let‘s drive Lexie away together.

“Besides, isn‘t she supposed to manage the Dutt family togetlier with you? As long as you marry into

our family again, with Joshua helping you, I‘m sure this can be worked out.“.

Cecilia had been doing a lot of thinking recently. After careful consideration, she decided to let Anaya

and Joshua get married again.
