Chapter 1737

Alec's arrival turned everyone's world upside down for a few days as they rallied to take care of the little guy.

Jenna, having just given birth, was completely worn out, so Adler dedicated his tto staying with her at a

postpartum retreat to ensure she got the care she needed. Meanwhile, back at the Aldridge Estate, the baby was

left in the hands of Sophie, Colby, and Harold-capable, yet slightly overwhelmed. The tquickly found

themselves on constant baby duty. Initially, the two guys thought a newborn would be a cute, cuddly bundle of

joy. Little did they know, this tiny human had a talent for soiling diapers and crying at the drop of a hat.

Within just a week, Harold was on the verge of losing his mind. "For heaven's sake, can't he just stop crying?" he

lamented, sporting a scruffy beard and tired eyes. Harold had even stopped going to the office, opting instead to

have all his work documents sent to the estate. The nursery had been set up in the study, but that did little to

muffle the baby's cries.

Colby strolled into the room and, with surprising ease, managed to calm the baby down. Before long, he had the

little one nestled in his arms. The baby stopped crying as soon as he saw Colby but didn't break into a smile

either.

"Big brother, thank goodness for you!" Harold was in awe of Colby. The baby only seemed to find peace in

Colby's arms, his tiny face wearing an oddly serious expression.

Colby, with his usual cool demeanor, stared at the baby, who appeared on the brink of getting spooked by his

intense gaze. "Colby! You're scaring the child!" Sophie chimed in, swooping in to scoop up the baby. Once in her

arms, the baby let out a loud cry before settling down and breaking into giggles.

Cradling the baby, Sophie turned to the two men and said, "If you guys didn't know how to handle a baby,

maybe you shouldn't have jumped at the chance. Now, all the work's on me!"

"Who knew such a tiny thing could cause such a ruckus?" Harold rubbed his temples, exasperated. " can't take it

anymore. Tomorrow, m calling someone from the retreat to bring this little guy to Adler. It's his son, he should be

the one bonding

with him."

"I'll take care of the baby," Colby suddenly volunteered. Sophie looked at him, uncertain. "... You think you can

handle it?" she asked.

Colby's eyes softened as he looked

at Sophie. "Leave it to me," he

assured her. Seeing his

determination, Sophie reluctantlet

handed the baby over. "Just remember, holding a baby isn't like holding a machine gun," she reminded him.

"Got it," Colby replied, genuinely focused on learning the ropes of baby care.

From a distance, Harold watched the scene unfold, feeling like he was witnessing a rookie learning the ropes.

Over the next few days, Colby dedicated himself to mastering the art of baby care. Whether it was feeding or

getting the baby to sleep, Colby quickly becquite adept, even surpassing Sophie at times.

When Jenna and Adler returned from the retreat, they were taken aback by the calm at the Aldridge Estate-no

crying baby, no adults in a frenzy. Jenna and Adler almost thought they had walked into the wrong house.
