Chapter 45 - A TFor Grandpa (Anj's POV) “Sky found them really interesting.” He laughed, shaking his head as if finding humor in why Sky found my children interesting. “He may not say it, but he enjoyed yesterday's activity in school. He even got to know sdads,” he said, glancing at the staff.
The staff, whose nwas printed on her ntag, cback with our order. Emily, the young woman, smiled at my triplets, and like others, when they saw how they all looked the same, they could not take their eyes away from them.

She smiled at him, nodding in agreement. “I'm sorry, but I'm kinda allergic to perfumes. | sneezed a lot, so...” He nodded and sighed, but not showing disappointment on his face. “We lost one customer already,” he propped his elbow on the table, cutting her right away, and looked at the worried eyes of my children.
| could not understand myself because instead of hating him for putting them on the spot, | realized he was only making a point. There are perfumes available in the market that are considered hypo-allergenic, but these are usually expensive.
“Yeah, we understand,” Lyra Helene said sadly, twitching her lips cutely. “I have allergies, too. But my mommy makes all-natural fragrances.” She searched for something from the paper bag and took the sample bottles out of the bag.
Leyanne and Selene puffed on the strips of paper of the samples their sister took, and when they were done, she gave one to the lady. “Try this.” She sniffed. “Hmm,” she mumbled and smiled, taking another strip. She took the bottle of her liking and smelled directly from it, loving the scent. “That's our favorite,” Lyra Helene smiled at her when she took the vanilla-scent perfume. “How much is this?” she asked her, and my adorable daughter looked at me. | shook my head and smiled. “She can have it for free,” | whispered and winked at her as | continued, “But don’t forget to give her your business card.” Leyanne excitedly took out one of their hand-made business cards and gave it to her. “Give mommy a call.” When the staff left, | turned to Steve, who looked amazed at them. “Am | looking at prodigies here?” My three girls giggled as they watched him take one bottle and smell them. “It's the sproblem | have with my daughter, and maybe she'll love this.” | rose to my feet, excused myself, and pretended the need to use the restroom, but | only wanted to give them twith Steve. When | went out of the restroom, | could see him laughing as the triplets told him stories animatedly. As | joined them again, | heard they were telling him stories about Mrs. Sandoval’s pet at home. | sat on my chair quietly and picked up my cup, sipping coffee and smiling at them, wishing they were always like this. When it was tfor us to go, Selene took something from her bag.
“Grandpa, can you please give this to our fake daddy?” My eyebrows raised when | saw her giving him my perfbottle. It was half-empty already, the only one | have because | haven't created one yet as | becbusy at work.
“This is one of the best of my mom'’s perfumes,” she boasted as she approached him to kiss. and hug him. “He‘ll love it,” Leyanne kissed and embraced him after Selene moved away from him. Lyra Helene followed, kissing and hugging him, but before he moved away, she whispered to him, a hushed tone that we could all hear. “Please tell fake daddy not to whiff much because Uncle Dylan said it has a magic spell that makes a man fall in love whenever he smells that perfume.” “Interesting.” He looked at the bottle again. “Then, | won't use this, not even a faint smell,” he whispered back.

Don’t go out yet, okay?” | said, and before | could add more, they excitedly ran toward the counter, looking at the cakes and pastries on the glass as they chatted about which cake was the best. | turned to him, grabbing my bag and cell phone from the table. “Thank you, Mr. Mars,” | smiled at him but avoided his gaze.
“No. Thank you, Angela,” he said, looking directly into my eyes and not smiling when | raised my head.
I swallowed hard while placing my palm on my chest, feeling my heart hammering inside my body, hurtingas | stared at him and was horrified that he recognized me. “H-how?” | stuttered as | gulped again, glancing slowly at my children. He took a deep sigh. “At first, | didn’t really recognize you. You have changed, grown up, and turned into a stunningly beautiful woman. It madewonder how you managed to raise three smart girls.” “It was a bad move then. | shouldn‘t have agreed in this meeting,” | said in a hushed tone. He shook his head.
“Actually, I'm glad you did. You savetin hiring people to check your background,” he said. “Let‘s not keep the triplets waiting. Shall we?” We walked slowly toward the counter, near the doorway, where my daughters talked with the manager.
“Are you telling sky about my children?” My voice trembled, fearing the thought that he might take an interest in them and take my daughters away from me.
He shook his head. “As much as I'd love to, i respect your decision whether you tell him or not. Maybe not now... But you can‘t keep them forever from him, Angela.” “I know...” “Just one thing, though,” He stopped as we got closer to them. “You will spare tfor an old man to be with you and my grandchildren. | want to know you more.” My forehead creased, suddenly confused by what he said. “I understand you wanted to be with my children, but me? Why?” He smiled sadly at me. “I already told you the reason before, Angela. You remindedof my daughter, Finn's twin sister.” | heaved a deep sigh, wanting to run away from him, but since Steve Mars knew about his grandchildren, he would do everything in his power to findeven if my children and | went to the ends of the earth.
