Chapter 55 - Sky Forgot Something (Anj‘s POV) “Angela? Isn't Anj ssort of nicknfor Angela or something?” He panicked and chuckled nervously as he glanced at me, then focused on the road. There was an edge to my smile, | knew that, but | managed to nod at him, breathing out as | turned my head outside the window.
Silence accompanied us in the car until we reached our destination, but as he slowed driving to park the car, he heaved a deep sigh as if taking all the courage he had in his system to say what he really wanted to tell me.
| turned my head to face Frank and smiled nervously at him.
“Just spill it out,” | said, knowing he must have recognized me. | may have changed a lot, but he had seenwithout my allergies on my face, and the chances of realizing it waswere high, not needing clues like a blanket and book. “The triplets?” He asked curiously. “He’s not the father,” | lied, evading his eyes and wondering if he could hear my heartbeat pounding crazily inside me. “Yeah, right. It's why Sky and the children have a great resemblance,” he smirked at me. “Why not just tell him he’s the father, Angela?” “And?” | asked him with horror in my eyes. “My children and | are okay without him,“ closed my eyes as | asked myself, “Am 12° ‘Are we?’ “The Mighty Sky searched for his angel, Angela. You made him nuts, looking for you for more than two months,” he sighed.
“And then he stopped,” | whispered, hating Frank for causing tears to well in my eyes.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHe scoffed at me. “Because after not finding you, he put in his mind that heaven made the greatest joke on his life and made himself believe that you didn‘t really exist.” “Then, let it stay that way. Angela is not existing, “I uttered angrily in a low voice, clenching my fists. “He doesn’t have to know about the truth. He was only interested inbefore because...” | bit my lower lip, unsure of what word to add. Maybe | hit his ego, hurt his pride, or it was because of his sick father.
Frank nodded, smirking as he opened his door and walked to my side to open the car door for me. | went out quietly, not wanting to talk to Frank anymore. | even turned my back on him without thanking him for the ride.
“Anj,” he called, causingto halt, but | did not look back. “You have not seen the Mighty Sky raging in anger yet.” | want to tell Frank it will not happen because | have no plan of seeing Sky again. Taking a deep breath, | continued walking, hoping that today would be the last day | would talk to anyone related to Sky except my children.
Finn Mars is meetingin front of the faculty room as he said in his message, and he was there, leaning on the wall, waiting forlike an excited boyfriend rather than a student waiting for the verdict on whether he would graduate or not.
He is handsbut not as gorgeously Adonis and delicious looking as his brother, and | often hear from students they wish he would notice them. Like Sky, he’s a snob, arrogant, and interested only in his life and a small circle of friends with the selite status.
As | opened the door and entered the faculty room, he followedand sat on the lounge withoutinviting him to sit. | almost rolled my eyes at him as | walked to my working space to put my bag on the table and take my pen. There were still other faculty members who only uick look and returned to what they were doing, except for Ms. Kat Thompson, maybe older thanby five or six years.
“What's he doing here?” She smiled as she peeked at Finn in the lounge. “Consultation,” | smiled at Kat but sighed as | glanced at Finn.
She chuckled softly, waggling her eyes at me, and whispered, “Fail him if you must. I'll handle the research class next semester and encourage him to enroll in my class.” | smirked, shaking my head. “You're really full of wonder, Kat, but don’t worry; if his data is insufficient, | will give him a failing grade and tell you immediately.” She leaned her head closer to me. “One night with him would be enough, and if I'm fully satisfied, | will pass him with flying colors,” she joked, grinning atas she leaned back to her chair.
I almost burst out laughing, but | was glad | could only chuckle at her. | leaned forward. “You haven‘t seen the brother, | bet.” “Sky?” She asked.
I nodded.
She shook her head. “Not in person, only on TV. Have you? Is he as handsas that cutie guy there?” I moved my head closer to her ears, afraid that other faculty members would hear us, and then | whispered, “Hotter. Just a mere sight of Sky Mars is enough to melt your panties,” | winked at her before she could ask more, but as | walked toward Finn, | heard Kat laughing hard.
Without smiling, | sat across from Finn, took his paper, and scanned the pages quietly. “Would you like to have coffee?” He asked, tilting his head to see my face.
Follow on Novᴇl-Onlinᴇ.cᴏm“No, thank you,” | answered, marking snotes on the white space of his work.
“A dinner later, perhaps?” When | raised my head and frowned at him, he raised his hands in the air. “Just trying to be grateful. Something like a thank-you dinner,” he explained. “Sky would surely askhow I repaid your kindness and consideration.” “Finn Mars, when Sky Mars metyesterday, | told him | would meet you today because it's my job to help you. It'll always be up to you if you want to graduate and have a direction in your life or not,” | clenched my teeth, holding my patience.
He smiled and nodded. “Relax, Ms. Perry. | just really wanted to bring you to dinner.” | only raised my eyebrows at him and continued checking on his paper. When | was done, | pushed it back to him. “E-mailthe corrected paper. No need to cand see me. Congratulations!” | rose to my feet, but he grabbed my wrist, stopping me.
“Just like that?” He asked, standing up.
My eyes flickered on his hand, and he releasedimmediately as if burned with my gaze.” Mr. Mars, you did a good job in your paper compared to the one you submitted before, and yes, just like that.” He grinned at me. “Your perfinspiredto do this.” He took the paper and left the lounge. | sighed, thinking how my perfhelped him when it had nothing to do with the paper I just checked. When | returned to my table, | was glad Kat was not there, but | could not help shaking my head as | chuckled at her message on the note she left on my table.
“You should have just accepted the dinner offer and broughtwith you - KT.” | reviewed the papers on my tables, and when | was done, | checked the emails | received today. Scfrom students, invitations to a conference, spam emails, and customer inquiries about my product. When | was done, it was already past seven, and the cluster of clouds that | did not notice this afternoon had poured heavy rain on the ground, and it looked like it had no plans of stopping for an hour or two.
But | have to go hnow. Taking only my bag and cellphone, | went out of the faculty room and walked toward the main entrance of the building. | was signing in to grab an uber when a car stopped in front of me. The driver went out of the car and opened the car door for me. “Get in,” he said, getting wet now because of the rain.
“Sky!” | exclaimed, plopping myself in the car, not because | was thankful to see him but because he was standing in the rain, waiting for me. “Brrr!” He murmured as he sat on the driver's seat and started the car. “Did you forget something?” | asked curiously as | searched my bag for a hanky or a towel. He grinned, showinghis beautiful smile. “Yep! | still have eighty-one kisses to collect,” he said, taking the strap of my seatbelt, causingto raise my head, but before I could utter a word, Sky had already kissed my lips passionately while securing the latch in the buckle.
