Kelly’s eyes were filled with disapproval. Then holding Linda’s hand tightly, she seemed to get something
to say. “And I will remind them of the thing that you have saved Henry’s life! I suppose the Kings won’t be
ungrateful people!” Added Linda.
Kelly sneered in her heart but she assumed an air of worry. That’s what she wants!
Linda was just a cat’s–paw of her, who could help her do more with less.
She pretended to fail to stop Linda. The latter turned to Mabel directly. “Old Mrs. King.”
Mabel looked back at the voice and she only see Linda come to her smiling. “What’s wrong?
Miss Linda.” Said Mabel with a laugh.
They had brought themselves to people’s notice with the conversation.
People were all glad to see that because they were sick of the food.

Linda nodded to greet Mabel. “Yes, I’ve got something interesting to tell. I’m sure Old Mrs. King might be
curious about it same as everyone here is.”
Henry knitted her eyebrows at Linda’s words, and sneaked a look at Nova, only to find that she
had a cursory glance at Linda.
She never laid her eye on him every minute of the party, which made Henry’s face more sullen than
before. There was something angry flickering in Henry’s eyes.
Mabel didn’t want to give her the floor but in view of the current situation, she had to agree on
second thoughts. “Oh, tell me what kind of things would make me curious?”
Linda smirked. “I learned from Kelly that Nova and she prepared the gift for you on the same day
and store. Cousins always are like–minded and I also heard that the gifts are both precious. So would
you mind treating us with these excellent gifts and showing us your favorite?”
Linda’s intention was clear. She wanted to compare Kelly and Nova’s gift publicly!
People’s face was working with emotions and someone even couldn’t help retorting, “This is
really childish and boring.”
“If that’s what you think, you are way off base. She intends to put Nova on the spot. It is obvious that
Linda did what she did for she knew Nova’s gift is inferior to Kelly’s. She wants to humiliate Nova
deliberately in front of the guest. Do you think she is just childish?” A new voice was
sounded.
“You’re right. As soon as the gift of Nova was shown and upstage by Kelly’s, Old Mrs. King must be

But soon a burst of laughter broke the silence. “Don’t you see that Kelly was stopping Linda from doing
this? Obviously, Kelly made it clear right from the outset that she disapproved of it. It is totally Linda’s
idea.”
“Yes, Kelly is always kind to everybody. Otherwise, how could she brave her life to save Henry? We are
no match for her in terms of kindness and courage.”
Nobody could gainsay her the fact that she saved Henry. She nearly lost her own life if it were
