It was galling to sense the aloofness and hostility in Henry’s warning. Nova felt a pricking pain in her
heart, but in the next moment, she pulled herself together. “How could you have the nerve to say that to
me? You know it was grandma’s trick to set me up you and her trip to Sulamani Abbey put her off
bringing us together, you don’t have to worry about that any longer now. As for me, I will never get my
claws into you.”

Henry, standing where he was, was burning with anger. He took his eyes from the fading car till Evan
came for him, and he closed his eyes then as if he was sorting himself out.
“Mr. King, it’s all done and we can leave now.” Sensing nothing amiss, Evan reported to him as
usual.
Henry just nodded lightly and led the way back.
