It felt miraculous to her.
"Maybe it's because I'm having so much fun at your house that I don't feel like sleeping." Anastasia
tried to rationalize with herself. "If that's the case, I'll come over here more often. Lily, you won't hate
me for that, will you?"
Lily smiled. "Of course not, but..."
She paused for a moment before she stretched her hand out. "I'll have to charge you for your meals!"
Instantly, Anastasia broke into laughter, amused by this woman in front of her. "Okay! No problem!"
She slapped Lily's hand lightly, and the two shook hands with a smile on both their faces.
Anastasia went home after dinner. A few minutes after she left, Alexander's car pulled in.

Alexander raised his eyes to look at her. The fatigue in his eyes was evident, but he did not say a word.
"I'll get them to do it right away!" With that, Lily turned around, but Alexander quickly grabbed her. "It's
okay. I'm just about to leave."
"Now?!" She widened her eyes in surprise. She thought she must have misheard him.
Although it was not yet midnight, it was still getting late. It was already dark outside, so Lily wondered
where her husband would be going at this time.
At this moment, Galen overheard his father's voice and ran over. "Daddy, daddy!"
Seeing his son, Alexander bent down and pulled him close for a snuggle. After a moment, Alexander
let go and said, "Daddy has something to do and will be away for a few days. Make sure you stay
home and be a good boy to your mommy, okay?"
"Huh?" The little boy did not understand as his face scrunched into a frown.
Lily quickly regained her senses and asked, "Where are you going? How long will you be away? Do
you need me to pack anything for you?"
"It's fine. If all goes well, it'll take about three to four days. I came home to get a change of clothes and
to inform you. I'll leave right after this. The car is waiting for me outside," he explained.
When Lily turned to look, his car engine was still running, seemingly like the driver was waiting for him.
It seemed like it was an emergency.
"Then, you should get going. I'll make some food so you can eat before you go. I don't want you to
starve." Lily knew what he was going to say and did not give him a chance to object. With a gentle pat

Alexander looked into her eyes deeply as he swallowed back his words and nodded slightly. "Okay."
With that, he went upstairs to change. Galen was upset because he saw that his father wasn't paying
much attention to him. "Mommy... Daddy, he..."
"Daddy's busy today. Be a good boy and play with Daisy." As she spoke, she gestured for Daisy to
keep him occupied. Then she ordered a maid to prepare some food in the kitchen.
Alexander had changed his clothes and came downstairs just in time.
When he sat down, Lily had already placed a bowl of soup before him and dismissed the maids. Then
she softly asked, "What happened?"
She had rarely seen him like this since they had been together, so she assumed something serious
must have happened.
