At the mention of "miracle doctor,' Lily was reminded of Austin and sighed inwardly, not knowing how
he was.
'Then... has your father investigated it?" Lily asked.
"No idea." Shaking her head, Anastasia was not sure. "He was shocked and angry when he found out
about it, but he hasn't talked about it since.
Perhaps he saw I was getting better and decided to let it go."
Puzzled, Lily shook her head. ‘That's unlikely."
'Mr. Rollins is so protective of Anastasia and wants her to be hospitalized even for minor injuries. How
could he not try to investigate the chronic poisoning? If he doesn't talk about it, he’s probably doing it in
secret or is bidding his time for...revenge?’
She had seen such patience in Alexander and knew that these seemingly calm men could be ruthless
when taking their revenge. 'They'll erupt like a volcano and become unstoppable!'

"I wanted to visit you, but you didn't answer my call. When I called your house, I was told you were
injured and hospitalized. Just what happened?" Lily asked nervously. "How could you get injured at
home? Were you feeling dizzy or uncomfortable?"
As she spoke, she held Anastasia's wrist, wanting to check how she was.
"I’m fine." Letting her hold her hand, Anastasia said resignedly, "I fell down the stairs by accident. It was
nothing."
"How was it nothing if you fell down the stairs? If you weren't feeling dizzy or unwell, why would you
have fallen?" Lily said in disagreement.
She carefully checked Anastasia's pulse and felt it was steady and had improved than it had been days
ago. She thought that if Anastasia kept going, she could get rid of all the toxins that were still in her
body.
Her mind put at ease, Lily let go of her hand. "Tell me. What happened?"
"It's... my cousin." She paused for a moment, not wanting to badmouth her behind her back.
"Rhea Moore?" Lily did not expect Anastasia to mention the person she had just met a day before. 'I
thought Rhea hasn't hung out with her much.’
"Uh-huh."
"Why was she in your house? What was she doing?" After a pause, Lily thought about something. "Are
you saying Rhea pushed you down the stairs?"
"Not exactly. We had a minor scuffle, and I fell by accident." She was embarrassed saying so, as she
was huge and yet was no match for Rhea.
"A scuffle?"
'Yes." With a nod, Anastasia gave Lily a rough account of what had transpired. "I truly have no idea
which pen holder she was talking about. I did go to her house, but I hadn’t seen it. I wonder why she
was so mad."

"Just because of a pen holder?" Lily was astonished.
'Although the Moore family isn't super rich, they're well-to-do and could surely afford to lose a pen
holder. However, based on what Anastasia said, Rhea seemed to care about it a lot. There must be
more to it than meets the eye!’
'Yeah. I’ve no idea why she cared about it so much. Aunt Maria offered to make an identical one for
her, but she did not want it and insisted on searching my house! Of course, I couldn't let her do so, as it
was so rude." Anastasia hardly knew what to say. "Lily, do you think my cousin has gone insane? Why
would she want to do that?"
"Well... I'm afraid you have to ask her that,” Lily said meaningfully.
After she left the hospital, Lily called Dominic, and his call was answered quickly. However, the voice
that came from the other end was not his.
"Hello? Who are you?" The childish voice melted Lily's heart in a second.
"Who do you think I am?"
"Mommy!" Galen was very happy to hear his mother's voice over the phone. "I miss you so much.
Mommy!"
"I miss you too. Have you been a good boy over at Grandpa's place?" Galen gave no reply.
