The man was courteous, and Lily could not find fault for his words. She would be deemed as
unreasonable to barge into the place with her men.
Lily turned her head. "You guys stay here. I'll be right back."
"Ma'am!" The bodyguards were worried.
"I'll be fine," She said casually, held up her hand, and glanced inwardly.' Even if it’s the lion’s den, I’m
still going in!’
She walked in, and the gate closed behind her. The research institute looked deserted and eerie.
'When Professor Thompson and I were around, the gate wouldn't be closed during the daytime, and
people would come and go freely. Although I wouldn't describe the place as lively, there were activities.

She craned her neck, took a glance, and walked toward the building.
The moment she entered, she saw Rhea in her white coat, one hand in her pocket and another
pointing at something on a document, whispering to someone beside her. Only when the person
nodded and left did she look up at Lily.
She smiled. "You're here again? Did you leave something important in the lab? Or you can't bear to
leave this place and want to rejoin us?"
"If I return, would you let me take your place?" Lily glanced sideways at Rhea and said blandly.
Rhea laughed. "What are you talking about? This isn't a palace-we're not vying for the throne. Can't we
work together? We were colleagues, weren't we? Also, I'm a big fan of yours, Mrs. Russell."
"Since we were colleagues, you don't mind if I take something I’ve left behind, do you?" Lily looked at
her and asked.
"Hey, I don't own the research institute. If you would like to take something, go ahead. Why would I
mind it?" Rhea stepped aside to show that she would not get in the way.
Lily threw her a deep gaze and walked inward.
"Anyway, what important thing have you left behind? Can I be of any help?" Rhea stood where she was
and asked again.
"I'm afraid I don't need help. I only left some personal items behind. If you're worried, you can come
with me."
Rhea laughed nonchalantly. "Of course not! There's nothing to worry about. Even if secrets exist in the
laboratory, you would know about them better than I do. Why would I be worried? It was wrong for me
to stop you last time. I hope you don't take it to heart," Rhea chuckled.

Rhea stood where she was and did not tag along. However, despite the smile on her face, there was
no joy in her eyes.
Lily had no idea why Rhea would let her roam in the building without anyone following her. Of course,

without them, like the restrooms.
Lily did not believe Rhea would graciously let her search for what she wanted, as Rhea was convinced

After making a trip to the restroom, she walked along the corridor and stopped in front of a room. There
was hardly anyone in the corridor as if she was the only person in this vast and empty building.
