When she fell ill and needed an injection, Alexander suggested avoiding it and taking medicine instead,
but she complained about the medicine’s bitterness. Being a student of traditional medicine, she found
both traditional and modern medicine bitter and refused to take them.
Later, Alexander teased her, saying she was not afraid of pains from injections but feared the bitterness
of medicine. Lily retorted, saying, “Although injections might be painful, they’re not as bitter as
medicine.”
It was a joke only the couple shared, something no one else could know. Still, the doctor accurately
repeated it, emphasizing it twice. Immediately after, Lily realized Alexander had most likely sent him.

Lily could finally calm down. After all, restlessness and anxiety were the quickest ways to make
