Chapter 363

Taking note of Artemis' timid look, Bailey rolled her eyes in annoyance.

Am I that fierce? Is he really afraid of me? All I did was glare at him.

“By the way, how did you deal with the rumor that spread all across Hallsbay?”

Artemis blinked and raised his brows. “I've decided to hold a press conference and bring Zoey along.

Everyone will think that I am about to disclose my relationship with her.”

Bailey rolled her eyes again.

Seriously? Do you have to be that mean? She saved you once. Can't you just be merciful? We all know

that the higher the expectation, the greater the disappointment. Toying with people's feelings like that

will really drive them crazy.

Zoey would be on cloud nine when she thought that Artemis had called for a press conference to

announce their marriage to the public.

However, all of her hopes would come crashing down when Artemis revealed the truth about the three

children.

That's so savage. I never thought Artemis would punish Zoey like that. They've always said that women

can be the most ruthless when you cross them, but men can be equally vicious. Artemis didn't even

spare the woman who saved him once. He can be heartless if he wants to be.

“Bay, I'll never let anyone hurt you—not even my family. If Zoey wants me to return the favor for saving

my life, I'll gladly let her stab me with a knife. She can do anything, but I won't let her hurt you.”

Knock!

Someone knocked on the cabin door, so Bailey quickly pulled away from Artemis' embrace.

“Come in.”

Veikko pushed the door open and stuck his head in. “Bailey, Shannon's up. She said she wants to see

you.”

“All right. I'll be right over.”

Bailey glanced at Artemis and realized how tired he looked. He must have rushed over from Hallsbay

overnight. He should get some rest.

“Get some sleep. I'll go check on Shannon. I'll be back after that.”

Yet, Artemis circled his arm around her waist and whispered in her ear, “But I want you.”

Bailey glared at him, reprimanding quietly, “Get some sleep first. You can do whatever you want after

that.”

A satisfied smile spread on Artemis' face, and he let go of her.

Bailey went straight to the lounge after stepping out of her cabin.

She saw Shannon standing by the window from a distance, staring at the sky outside in a daze.

The sight of that made Bailey's heart ache.

“Shannon...” she called out, but Shannon did not turn around.

“Don't blame yourself, Bailey. It's already been three years. That's enough time for us to heal, so stop

living in the past. It's tiring,” Shannon said with a hoarse voice.

Bailey walked over and hugged her friend. “I'm sorry for bringing you back to Hallsbay without your

permission.”

Shannon smiled, but there was no warmth on her face. “Don't worry about it. I can't run away forever.

I'll have to face it eventually. You don't have to waste all those resources sending people to protect me

after we reach Hallsbay. I'll just rent a house and wait for him to find me.”

Bailey wanted to object, but when she saw the determination on Shannon's face, she relented. “Okay. I

respect your decision.”

After that, Bailey stayed at the lounge for slightly over an hour to chat with Shannon before returning to

the cabin.

Artemis was sleeping when she got back, his breathing slightly heavy. He was obviously exhausted.

Bailey walked over and covered him with a blanket, but as soon as she bent down, Artemis grabbed

her waist and flipped her over.

“You're awake,” Bailey blurted.

“I was asleep, but I woke up when I smelled your scent.”

Bailey glared at Artemis.

Your sense of smell is keen like a dog.

“Can I have you now?” he grunted in her ear.

Bailey sighed. “You're exhausted. You need to rest.”

“No. I slept for an hour already. That's more than enough. I want you now,” Artemis insisted, shaking

his head.

“Please.”

Bailey glanced at him in resignation. “Well, I'm already under you right now. What else can I do? It's not

like I can kick you off.”

Artemis kissed her on the lips instantly.

As soon as a passionate wave of desire engulfed her, she mumbled in a daze, “Are there any morning-

after pills onboard?”

“There are condoms.”

Over at the Shurmer residence, Shirley regarded Zoey with a look of envy as the latter kept bragging,

but deep down, Shirley was sneering with contempt.

Why is she so showy? The press conference hasn't even happened, and Artemis hasn't even

announced their relationship. I can already imagine how disheartened she would become if Artemis

doesn't publicize the relationship. She needs to stop thinking too highly of herself.

“Congratulations, Zoey. Your dream finally came true. You're getting the man every woman wants,”

Shirley said.

“Shonnon...” she colled out, but Shonnon did not turn oround.

“Don't blome yourself, Boiley. It's olreody been three yeors. Thot's enough time for us to heol, so stop

living in the post. It's tiring,” Shonnon soid with o hoorse voice.

Boiley wolked over ond hugged her friend. “I'm sorry for bringing you bock to Hollsboy without your

permission.”

Shonnon smiled, but there wos no wormth on her foce. “Don't worry obout it. I con't run owoy forever.

I'll hove to foce it eventuolly. You don't hove to woste oll those resources sending people to protect me

ofter we reoch Hollsboy. I'll just rent o house ond woit for him to find me.”

Boiley wonted to object, but when she sow the determinotion on Shonnon's foce, she relented. “Okoy. I

respect your decision.”

After thot, Boiley stoyed ot the lounge for slightly over on hour to chot with Shonnon before returning to

the cobin.

Artemis wos sleeping when she got bock, his breothing slightly heovy. He wos obviously exhousted.

Boiley wolked over ond covered him with o blonket, but os soon os she bent down, Artemis grobbed

her woist ond flipped her over.

“You're owoke,” Boiley blurted.

“I wos osleep, but I woke up when I smelled your scent.”

Boiley glored ot Artemis.

Your sense of smell is keen like o dog.

“Con I hove you now?” he grunted in her eor.

Boiley sighed. “You're exhousted. You need to rest.”

“No. I slept for on hour olreody. Thot's more thon enough. I wont you now,” Artemis insisted, shoking

his heod.

“Pleose.”

Boiley glonced ot him in resignotion. “Well, I'm olreody under you right now. Whot else con I do? It's not

like I con kick you off.”

Artemis kissed her on the lips instontly.

As soon os o possionote wove of desire engulfed her, she mumbled in o doze, “Are there ony morning-

ofter pills onboord?”

“There ore condoms.”

Over ot the Shurmer residence, Shirley regorded Zoey with o look of envy os the lotter kept brogging,

but deep down, Shirley wos sneering with contempt.

Why is she so showy? The press conference hosn't even hoppened, ond Artemis hosn't even

onnounced their relotionship. I con olreody imogine how disheortened she would become if Artemis

doesn't publicize the relotionship. She needs to stop thinking too highly of herself.

“Congrotulotions, Zoey. Your dreom finolly come true. You're getting the mon every womon wonts,”

Shirley soid.

Zoey smiled sweetly at her. “Your dream will come true one day too. Zeke's a good catch. Many girls

out there want to marry him as well. Everyone will envy you if both of you really end up together.”

“But Zeke—”

“Do you think I should spread the word about Artemis holding a press conference to announce our

relationship officially?” Zoey interrupted before Shirley even finished her sentence.

Shirley inclined her head as a glint of annoyance shone in her eyes.

How inconsiderate can she get?

“Well, I guess it'll be nice to give the public the heads-up,” Shirley suggested.

Ha. Show off all you want now, Zoey. You'll be in for a huge disgrace if anything goes wrong.

“That's a good idea,” Zoey agreed. “I'll ask them to spread the news about the press conference. I

should get the people talking about this big news in advance. This is a good way to shift public

attention. I believe Artemis will support my decision, too.”

Shirley smiled. Just as she was about to speak, Zoey's phone rang.

She had just received a text message that read: Ms. Shurmer, don't forget to save my daughter. If I

don't see her two days from now, the Shurmer family will know you're a fake.

Zoey's hand shuddered, and her phone almost slipped from her palm.

“Are you okay, Zoey?”

Zoey looked up and met Shirley's concerned gaze. “I-I'm fine. What was I saying just now?” she

stuttered guiltily.

“You said you should get people talking about your relationship with Artemis before the press

conference.”

“Right. I'll get this done immediately.”

Meanwhile, Justin had brought Veronique and Zephyr back to the country.

Once they landed, Veronique went back to the Revelle residence while Justin brought Zephyr to the

medical base.

With Zephyr's condition deteriorating over time, he had to be on dialysis most of the time, so he could

not leave the facility.

Over at the Revelle residence, Veronique gazed at Bill, who was sitting on the couch, in hesitation.

“Dad, I've decided to face everything with Justin. I've also decided to spend my life with him and give

Zephyr a complete family,” she said after some time.

Bill did not look surprised. It was apparent that he had already anticipated that from his daughter.

“What about the Fletcher family? How are you going to deal with them?”
