Chapter 421

He tried his best to suppress his emotions, but he still ended up stammering.

Although he already had three kids, he only knew of their existence after they were born. He had never

experienced the joy of finding out that he was going to be a father.

Artemis knew there was a great chance they wouldn't keep the child because he didn't want Bailey to

suffer.

Still, he couldn't help but feel elated when he found out she was pregnant. This is the product of our

love!

Bailey noticed his change of mood and sighed inwardly. He must be looking forward to this. But will I be

able to overcome my psychological disorder and survive the pregnancy?

“Artemis, I don't want the child.” She was testing him to see how he would react.

If he were to pressure her into keeping the child, she would most probably be utterly devastated.

She would also think that he would always prioritize his children over herself.

“Okay. Before I came over, I'd already talked to Justin about it. We think we should let Veronique

perform the abortion. However, it's too early because the fetus is too small. Let's wait for another two

weeks, okay?” Artemis answered.

Bailey stared at him in confusion.

Did he really agree to it? I can't believe he agreed to it so readily.

“Artemis, a-are you sure? This is your child we're talking about.”

Artemis hugged her tight and whispered into her ear, “No one is more important than you in my heart.

Not even the children. As long as you're by my side, I don't mind not having a child. Yet God was kind

to me. God gave me Max, Zayron, and Susan. They are the best gifts from God.”

Shocked, Bailey wrapped her arms around his waist and said tearfully, “I have prenatal depression,

which is a kind of mental illness. I am a renowned physician and a hypnotist, so I know how scary this

illness is. If I insist on keeping the child, I don't know if I can survive the pregnancy. I will become

restless and unreasonable. I'm afraid you'll detest me.”

Artemis was heartbroken when he heard those words.

He lowered his head to kiss her forehead and mumbled, “Don't think about it, then. Let's just get an

abortion.”

Bailey didn't say anything in response.

At that moment, her mind was a mess, and she couldn't decide what to do. Maybe I should wait a few

days to see if I can get used to it. If I can, I may be able to keep the child.

“Go to the room and lie down. You just had surgery, right? Don't tire yourself out.” Only when Bailey got

calmer did she notice how pale his face was.

Artemis waved his hand dismissively and turned on the stove. “I'm fine. I'll make you some food first.

What would you like to eat?”

Bailey wouldn't let him do that.

She pushed him out of the kitchen and ordered, “Go to the room and lie down, or I'm going to get Ken

to send you home.”

Artemis did as he was told. He couldn't persuade her to change her mind because he was dog-tired.

She opened her heart to me, and that's the best outcome possible. I can't ask for more than that. This

woman has already given up and suffered so much because of my outrageous action back then.

Indeed, he was filled with remorse, so he wanted nothing other than for her to be safe.

The next day, at a rented house in the suburbs, the doorbell was ringing.

Shannon went to open the door.

The moment she saw the person at the door, she instinctively wanted to close the door.

“Shannon.” Yvette hurriedly stretched out a leg and placed it in between the door and the doorframe,

preventing it from closing. “Are you not going to invite me in? We were once as close as sisters.”

Shannon narrowed her eyes and furrowed her brows. “We have nothing to talk about. I left Tarragon

many years ago, and the relationship we used to have is long gone.”

Yvette smiled and pushed the door open forcefully before walking in.

Shannon's face clouded over. I don't want to see this woman now. I really don't want to see her.

“Yvette, drop the act. You're disgusting. We both know what you did to me,” Shannon uttered.

Yvette ignored her and sat down on the couch. While arching a brow, she flashed a half-smile and said,

“Which incident are you talking about, Shannon? Are you talking about the time when you lost an arm,

or are you talking about the staged car crash?”

Shannon strode forward and grabbed Yvette's arm. “So you finally admit it? Are you admitting to the

fact that you framed me and staged a car crash that killed my son?”

Yvonne spread her hands and smiled gracefully. In a confused tone, she asked, “What are you talking

about, Shannon? We grew up together. Why would I frame you and cause you to lose one of your arms

in vain? Micah was the one who planned the road accident in Springwyn. Why are you blaming me for

it?”

Shannon bit her lip and stared at Yvette coldly. This woman's words have just exposed her. Apart from

me, Bay, and the perpetrator, no one knows the accident happened in Springwyn. However, this

woman just revealed it. Is this not enough to prove that she was the mastermind?

“Why, Yvette? Why did you have to drag a two-year-old kid into this?” Shannon asked.
