Chapter 572

Brittany smiled, “How’ve you been?”

“I’ve been doing alright, Ms. Dustin. We were all pretty cut up about what happened to you five years ago.” The

stand owner sighed deeply, “Mr. Salter missed you a lot. He’s been dropping by a lot over the years.”

Isaac… still come around?

Brittany’s gaze wavered slightly, “Really?”

The stand owner didn’t notice her expression and handed her a few apples.

Brittany tried to pay, but he refused. “Ms. Dustin, we should be thanking you. This street was supposed to be

renovated three years ago, but Mr. Salter allowed us to stay.”

Brittany couldn’t refuse and just thanked him. After the stand owner was called away, she took a hundred bucks

from her bag, left it at the fruit stand, and walked away.

When she got home, Brittany contacted the crew, “I can’t find the ‘Blue Diamond’ can we switch it out for another

one? I have other jewels-”

Whether the original Blue Diamond was real or fake, she didn’t want it anymore. The thought of being messed

around by Isaac made her sick!

“Mr. Dustin, let me check on that.” The crew member sounded a bit troubled..

Daniel was sitting on the plush carpet, sipping on a cup of milk, enjoying every drop.

Hearing that Brittany was looking for something, Daniel perked up his ears, thinking about how he could help his

mom.

The nanny was preparing dinner in the kitchen.

Brittany came out of the study, and suddenly, the doorbell rang.

“Hold on.”

Brittany went to answer the door and found William Dillion standing there.

“William, you’re here.”

William was holding a bunch of sunflowers and some snacks, most of which were Brittany’s favorites.

“I came to see where Daniel is?”

“He’s inside.”

Brittany took the sunflowers, their fragrance filling her nostrils. Ever since she started seeing William, he would

bring her a bunch of sunflowers almost every time he visited, always the freshest.

William stepped in, and Daniel, seeing him, cheerfully called out, “Uncle William!”

Then, putting down his cup, Daniel scampered into his bedroom.

He activated his smartwatch phone and called Isaac, “Dad, William’s here again, and he brought Mom flowers.”

“Alright, just make sure they don’t spend time alone, got it?”

Daniel gave a salute. “Roger that.”

Brittany watched Daniel leave, then took the stuff from William. “It’s enough that you came. You didn’t need to

bring anything.”

William chuckled, “I know you like them, so I bought them all.”

“Mr. Dillion.” The nanny, heard the noise, came out of the kitchen.

Brittany handed her the stuff and said, “Take these and prepare them. We’ll have dinner together.”

The nanny was a hard worker. “The stewed chicken soup will be ready soon. I’ll just fry some chicken wings for

Daniel, and then we can

eat.”

“Great.”

William was all sweaty from the rush over. He took off his coat, and Brittany made him a cup of coffee. “Have some

coffee.”

William smiled. “I heard you’ve recently become a jewellery stylist for a film crew?”

“Yeah, I’ve already been to the set.”

“How was it going?”

“Great, everyone on the crew is really nice.” Brittany pulled William to sit down, picked up the remote, and switched

cartoon. “”Daniel, your favorite cartoon’s on.”

“I’m coming.”

Daniel came out of his room and suddenly perked up, seeing Brittany and William sitting together and remembering

what his dad had

said.

He climbed onto the couch, sat between them, and clung tightly to Brittany.

William sipped his coffee.

The weather was fickle, sunny in the afternoon, and now a storm was brewing. In an instant, it started pouring

down, making a pitter-patter sound, and the whole city was covered in an unexpected downpour.

“Mommy, Daniel’s scared.”

Daniel crawled into Brittany’s lap, and she instinctively covered his ears. “Don’t be scared, mommy’s here.”

Daniel smelled faintly of milk, his small hand clutching her clothes tightly.

Brittany felt a little sorry for him. He was still so small, yet his dad kept leaving him at home. It was pitiful.

William was a bit dazed. The two before him seemed to have nothing in common, but he suddenly felt that their

eyes looked alike.

“Bri, you and Daniel look alike.
