They were already an item officially, but aside from holding hands, they haven’t done any other lovey-dovey stuff.
Brittany’s muscles tensed slightly, and she felt nervous.
They were lovers, and they would surely get more intimate in the future.
A spark of excitement flashed in William’s eyes. He tried to suppress his pounding heart, lowered his head, and
leaned towards Brittany. He inhaled her scent and felt her petite body in his arms.
Brittany closed her eyes.
Just as he was about to plant one on her, the door suddenly flung open…
“Mommy, Uncle William, what are you doing?”
Daniel pushed open the door and poked his head in, his bright eyes staring straight at them, look bit puzzled and
mischievous.
“Nothing, nothing… nothing.”

William didn’t get to kiss her, which was a bit of a bummer.
“Daniel, have you finished your bath?”
He walked over to Daniel and took his hand. “I bought you some snacks, come on, let me take you to eat.”
Seeing Brittany’s embarrassment, he took Daniel out of the room.
After they left, Brittany covered her face with her hands, her ears burning.
She suddenly realized that she might not really be into William.
When he was about to kiss her, her body was as tense as a bowstring.
After being interrupted by Daniel, she only felt relieved.
Brittany came out of the room and saw Daniel sitting on the carpet with delicate snacks in front of him. William was
standing not far away with a coffee in his hand and asked, “Care for a coffee?”
Due to the earlier awkwardness, Brittany felt a bit uncomfortable. “Sure.”
She took the cup, and William took the opportunity to hold her hand, “Your hand is a bit cold. Is it too chilly?”
“Maybe.”
Brittany took a sip of coffee and thought of what had just happened, feeling a bit helpless. “I’m sorry, I/forgot Daniel
was still home.”
“No worries, we’ll have plenty of time in the future.”
Daniel pretended to focus on his snacks, but his little ears perked up. “Mommy, Uncle William, come watch TV with
me.”
“Sure thing.”
William sat on the sofa with Brittany, and they tactfully avoided mentioning what had just happened.
After Daniel had his fill, he hugged his belly and said he was sleepy.
Brittany took him back to his room, helped him brush his teeth and wash his face, then put him in bed. “What story
do you want to hear tonight?”

Brittany was helping him tuck in when she paused, “I suppose so.”
Daniel’s eyes widened. If mommy and William got married, what about him and Daddy?
Would he lose his mommy?
Daniel had always dreamed of being with Brittany forever. Hearing that she was going to marry someone else, he
reached out and grabbed Brittany’s hand. “Mommy, if you guys get married, will you have a new baby?”
Brittany didn’t understand why Daniel suddenly became talkative. Could it be that Daniel’s father was remarrying?
He had no time to care for his son, but he had time to date.
Brittany felt that when Daniel’s father returned, they really needed to have a good talk.
“Daniel, even if I have my own child in the future, it won’t affect how much I like you. I will always like you.”
Brittany got in the car, took the obviously disappointed Daniel into her arms, and comforted him softly. “If your
daddy gets remarried, you’ll always be his baby, and he’ll love you.”
Daniel pursed his lips and said, “Daddy won’t remarry.”
“Really?” Brittany heard his determination and asked, “How can you be so sure?”
“Daddy said that he’s been waiting for mommy to come back, but he did something wrong, and mommy hasn’t
been back for five years.”
