After a while, a pair of arms wrapped around her waist, and a warm embrace enveloped her.
Isaac nibbled gently at her earlobe, stirring her from sleep.
Brittany woke but remained silent, her breathing slightly hurried – a giveaway to Isaac that she was
awake.
“I’m sorry.” Isaac’s voice was husky with regret, “I messed up. Don’t be mad, don’t leave me.”
Exhausted to her core, Brittany closed her eyes, feigning sleep.
Without an answer, Isaac sighed heavily, “I’ll drop the lawsuit. She won’t bother us again.”

Joie was taken to the detention center, utterly blindsided by Brittany’s move.
Once there, it was as if everyone had it in for her.
In just twenty-four hours, she was battered and bruised. She reached out to Isaac but got
no response.
Instead, it was Leda who visited, her disdain palpable. “This is your grand plan to take down Brittany?”
Joie clenched her fists, defiant. “You know nothing. As long as I’m alive, there will come a day when
Brittany will plead on her knees before me!”
Leda scoffed and left without another word.
Joie caused a ruckus in the detention center, eventually leading to a hospital admission.
Grace couldn’t stand by and watch, so she visited the hospital. “How did things get this bad?”
Joie lay in the hospital bed, battered and bruised.

Grace’s disappointment grew as Joie showed no remorse, even trying to shift the blame onto Brittany.
“Joie, I’ve seen the video. Your intention was clear as day. You’ve made a mistake, and now you must
face the consequences!”
After Grace left, Joie kicked the wall in frustration, only to be pinned down by two officers! “Stay down!”
Joie bit her lip in pain.
