Chapter 489

He looked a bit tired, not really in the mood, but his eyes lit up when he saw Daisy. “Daisy, come in.”

Daisy asked, “Did I wake you up?”

Frances replied, “No, I was just reading on the couch. I wouldn’t sleep so early. Come in.”

With that, he opened the door and let her in. Daisy walked in holding a tray. Frances gave John a warning glance,

who lowered his head.

Frances went back to his room.

Daisy put the tray on the table. “Have you eaten? This dessert is really good. Want to give it a try?”

“Sure.” Frances took a small bite.

As he took the first bite, he slightly pursed his lips. Daisy watched him. “Do you like it? If you do, I can learn to make

it. I can’t cook, but… but I’m really smart. I can pick it up quickly.”

She thought the chef’s dessert was delicious, even better than what she had had in the outside stores. The cake

wasn’t overly sweet, but had a hint of natural fruit

flavor.

Frances looked into Daisy’s clear and innocent eyes. He noticed something off about the taste, but didn’t say

anything. “I like it.”

Daisy said, “Then I’ll learn to make it tomorrow. I’m moving in soon, and once I’ve learned, I’ll make it for you.”

Frances nodded, with a hint of a smile in his eyes. “Okay.”

“Do you like sweet or salty food?”

“I have a sweet tooth.”

Daisy smiled. “Me too.”

By the time Daisy got home, it was already 10 o’clock. But she took out her phone and looked up various dessert

recipes. There were ingredients at home, and she busied herself until the early morning. But the finished product

was a bit offputting

Daisy looked at the dessert on the tray. It tasted fine, but it looked really off. She had tried her best, but the shape

of the dessert was still irregular. And sometimes it was overcooked, but when she used low heat, she couldn’t get

the texture right.

Daisy went upstairs, took a shower, and laid in bed. She pulled out her phone and searched for several dessert-

making procedures, which were basically the same. The ingredients were all the same.

Whatever, she’ll deal with it tomorrow. Daisy was really tired.

Meanwhile, at the Boswell family.

John exclaimed, “Mr. Frances, Mr. Frances, what happened to you?”

In the bedroom, the man lying on the bed was pale, his eyes tight shut, his forehead drenched in sweat, and

Frances’ lips were also very pale, as if he was suppressing some kind of pain. His slender fingers were bulging with

veins.

John picked up his phone and immediately called Wilton and the family doctor. By the time Wilton arrived, it was

already half an hour later. He walked up the stairs in large strides, waking up Ava who lived on the first floor.

In the room, Dr. Jade immediately started treating and examining Frances. “He’s having a severe allergic reaction.

If it gets worse, he could go into shock.”

Now Frances had closed his eyes, his breathing becoming extremely weak.

Dr. Jade said, “My medicine can only relieve the symptoms, but it can’t solve the problem. We must get him to the

hospital immediately.”

Without delay, Wilton drove Frances to the hospital. The doctors and nurses were already waiting at the entrance.

Frances was immediately taken into an ambulance.

Wilton clenched his fists. “John, what the hell happened?! Was it Mina?!”

John recalled what had happened. “Mr. Frances was in his room all day. Around 8 o’clock, Miss Daisy brought him a

piece of fruit cake, and he ate it.”

So it was Daisy. She was Mina’s accomplice.

Wilton took out his phone and called Daisy. The phone rang several times before it was answered.

Seeing the unknown number, Daisy asked, “Who is this?”

On the other end of the phone, a threatening male voice came, “Daisy, if anything happens to my brother, I’ll make

you pay with your life.”
