Chapter 161

Inside a swanky, posh private room, dim and moody lights cast an eerie and terrifying atmosphere.

Isabella was led inside.

Lysander lounged on the sofa, legs casually crossed, radiating an icy presence. His handsome face

was cold and cruel. He held a cigarette, with its orange glow burning, as if setting fire to her heart.

Before she even fully stepped in, her heart was already hot and panicking due to the tense

atmosphere.

A woman was kneeling at Lysander’s feet. She was neatly dressed but with hair disheveled, looking

utterly helpless and in a state.

Isabella recognized her in an instant. It was Faye!

Seeing Faye in such a state, Isabella’s legs turned to jelly. With a “thud“, she ended up kneeling next to

Faye at Lysander’s feet.

Despite Lysander not uttering a word, Isabella was shaking like a leaf.

Faye, tears in her eyes, glanced at Isabella. Her face was red and swollen, and her eyes puffed up like

a toad.

At first, Faye didn’t recognize Isabella until she noticed her clothes and accessories.

Faye thought the wounds on Isabella’s face were inflicted by Lysander’s men. Her heart skipped a beat

and she lowered her head.

“Did I ask you to kneel?”

Lysander stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray, his voice frosty.

“Mr. Sinclair is too noble for you to kneel before!” David, getting the hint, kicked Isabella in the shoulder,

sending her flying a few meters away into a wall, then falling down.

She spat out a mouthful of blood, begging on the floor, “Mr. Sinclair, please spare me, for the sake of

me being Thalassa’s cousin, please spare me.”

Isabella’s voice trembled, and she didn’t even dare to cry.

After what Thalassa told her earlier, she guessed Lysander summoned her for that reason.

If she kept hiding the truth, Lysander would surely kill her.

She was terrified.

As soon as Isabella spoke, Faye looked at her, her face tense.

It was too late to stop her now.

David stepped up, grabbing Isabella by the collar and yanking her up. “Thalassa is just a cleaner for the

Sinclair group, and you’re using her to beg for mercy?”

David’s face was full of cold murderous intent. He acted under Lysander’s orders, even if he killed

Isabella, it would be Lysander’s will. Lysander was powerful and could cover the sky with one hand.

Killing Isabella would be as easy as squashing an ant.

Isabella was so frightened that her lips trembled, she blurted out, “Thalassa is the woman Mr. Sinclair

has been looking for. Five years ago, Mr. Sinclair fell into the woodshed, and the woman he slept with

was Thalassa. Mr. Sinclair has always wanted to compensate her. I am her family, if you harm me,

Thalassa will be sad…”

Faye nervously reminded, “Isabella, do you know the price of lying?”

Isabella was now in complete chaos, unable to rationally analyze the situation. All she knew was that

Lysander already knew that Thalassa was the woman that night.

If she admitted her mistake in time, she might get a lighter punishment; but if she stubbornly refused to

admit it, the outcome would be very bad.

Isabella started crying out loud, simply confessing everything.

“Five years ago, I accidentally overheard Faye saying on the phone that the woman Mr. Sinclair was

looking for had died. That’s when I knew Mr. Sinclair and Thalassa had a history and he was looking for

her. Faye gave me five million to keep this secret and helped her fake Thalassa’s death. I shouldn’t

have lied to Mr. Sinclair for money. I know I was wrong, please forgive me, Mr. Sinclair…

As Isabella spilled everything, Faye was both nervous and angry. She wanted Isabella to stop talking,

but David held her back. She couldn’t get close to Isabella at all.

She was panting, trying to defend herself, “Mr. Sinclair, she’s talking nonsense. You can’t trust a

woman like this.”
