Joshua's oversight was peculiar, to say the least. In the midst of introducing his youngest son, he somehow forgot to mention Thalassa. It seemed like Thalassa was also making her first visit to pay respects at Harper's grave.
He had introduced every member of his family to Harper, except for Thalassa.
No wonder Lysander had raised an eyebrow.
After Joshua's admission, Lysander shot him a look that was neither here nor there, devoid of reproach yet not entirely forgiving either.

And hey, my brother went public about Thalassa being his daughter in front of the whole world." Lucas might not have been in close contact with Joshua's family on a daily basis, but he was well-informed about the significant events in their lives.
He also kept an eye on the news about Joshua's family.
He had seen the live broadcast of the jewelry competition, where Joshua had defended Thalassa against accusations of fraud, denying she used fake materials in her designs, and publicly acknowledged her as his daughter. Hearing Lucas's words, Thalassa glanced at Joshua.
In that moment, sof the hurt inside her melted away, warming a cold corner of her heart.
Though Joshua had hurt her in many ways, especially when it cto matters involving her and Rosalind's interests, his bias was unconsciously towards Rosalind.
But whenever Rosalind wasn't involved, Joshua showed his care for Thalassa.
It wasn't much, but it was there his love for Thalassa paled in comparison to his affection for Rosalind.
Yet Thalassa wasn't greedy or petty.
Lucas mentioning this incident of Joshua's unequivocal support softened her heart.
"Thank you for acknowledgingas part of the Whitman family. You don't have to blyourself; I've never held it against you," Thalassa told Joshua, her sincerity shining through.

For sreason, seeing the depth of Joshua's affection for Thalassam made Rosalind feel a twinge of jealousy.
