After reaching home, the two children obediently went to the study to do their homework while Avery prepared
dinner in the kitchen.
The kitchen sink was half filled with water, and in it were two fish. Avery had decided to prepare them for the
children.
Rich in DHA and other nutrients, fish was very beneficial for children's brain development.
Even though the kids did not like fish, the mother was determined to get them to have some.
Avery was somewhat distracted that day, especially after she saw Cayden leave with Wisteria.
No matter how hard she tried to stop herself from overthinking, Avery just could not seem to control her thoughts.
The woman then picked up the fish from the water and started hitting them on the head with a wooden stick as if
they were Cayden.
The sea creatures were alive and well a moment ago, but after a beating like that, their mouths popped open as
they passed on.
Avery wanted to call Cayden, yet her pride did not allow her to do so. If he's really just talking business with
Wisteria, I'll seem unreasonable if I bother him.
However, she suddenly felt anxious when she remembered Dylan's words, so she decided to stop thinking about the
matter altogether.
After preparing the fish, Avery moved on to preparing some carbohydrates and vegetables. Once she was done,
she set the plates and the cutleries on the dining table.
Then, she announced to Zachary and Rory that dinner was ready.
“Wow, your cooking smells wonderful, Mommy! I'm so hungry,” stated Rory as she rubbed her growling stomach.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtIn response, Avery lifted her index finger and flicked her daughter's nose gently. “You can ask for a second helping if
you're still hungry later.”
“Mommy, is Daddy not coming home for dinner?” inquired Zachary while helping himself to some soup.
Avery only realized how late it was after glancing at the clock hanging in the living room.
“Your father's busy today, so he won't be joining us for dinner,” she replied with a shake of her head.
The children began to yawn not long after filling their bellies in silence, so Avery urged them to take their showers
before tucking them in.
“Sleep well,” uttered Avery softly as she patted the kids on the head.
Having shut their eyes, the children let out one last yawn before falling asleep with adorable pouts.
The two little ones had almost identical faces that were enough to melt anyone's heart.
Avery ran her hand across the children's delicate skin, and the softness was irresistible. She could not help but
break into a soft smile when she thought about how the kids came from her and the man she loved.
Still, she became more and more anxious with each passing second of Cayden's absence.
The design of the restaurant was exceptionally elegant, and there was even a classical piano performance on the
stage.
Some would say the establishment was suitable for couples on a date night.
Cayden, dressed in a tailor-made Armani suit, was seated at a table where the lights seemed to add an air of
mystery to him by accentuating his cold visage and exquisite facial features.
Wisteria fiddled with the foie gras on her plate absently as she tried her best not to seem obsessed with the man.
“Now that Zachary and Rory are slowly growing up, will you be making some time to get yourself a girlfriend, Mr.
Moore?”
“Since when did you begin to take an interest in my personal life?” inquired Cayden, leaning back in his chair.
“I suppose a woman's priorities change as she gets older. I used to have nothing but work on my mind. It's still
important to me, but now I'm more concerned about family and health; I've already started to pay attention to my
lifestyle and what I put in my mouth. You're an outstanding man with good looks and a high net worth, so I wonder
what type of woman you prefer,” voiced Wisteria inquisitively.
From the day she began to work with Cayden, Wisteria knew he liked to keep a low profile because he valued his
privacy.
The man rarely appeared at social events or in the news, much less interacted with women.
Wisteria always thought Cayden was uninterested in women, but then he suddenly became the father to a pair of
twins.
The unexpected news was as surprising as it was infuriating to her.
However, no matter how hard Wisteria tried, she could not seem to figure out who the children's mother was,
which was quite frustrating.
It doesn't matter that Mr. Moore already has children as long as he remains available. Wisteria was convinced that
she would make Cayden hers sooner or later if she worked hard enough.
Staring intently at Wisteria, Cayden immediately thought of Avery when asked about the type of woman he
preferred. “She's about one hundred and sixty-five centimeters tall, has straight black hair, big eyes, fair skin, and
is the quiet and gentle type.”
When Wisteria heard that, her heart instantly sank into her stomach. I'm one hundred and seventy-two centimeters

asking him a similar question a few years ago. Back then, he told me that he preferred women who were capable
and independent enough to work side-by-side with him.
That was the reason Wisteria worked so hard to turn herself into a strong woman. Unfortunately, she did not expect
Cayden's preference to take such a huge change in direction. How can I just accept that? Not only do I have good
looks and a desirable background, but I'm also capable. I'm probably the only person in this world worthy of him.
Still, Wisteria could see how love-struck Cayden was when he talked about the woman he liked. The man's eyes
were filled with so much gentleness that she had the urge to murder the person he had such strong feelings for.
I've been around him for so many years, and I've never seen such a gentle expression on him before. One hundred
and sixty-five in height, straight black hair, big eyes, and fair skin... He said that's the type of woman he prefers.
Suddenly, Wisteria thought of Avery, who happened to look precisely as Cayden described.
She then continued to enjoy her dinner without a hint of emotion in her eyes. However, her true feelings and
sinister thoughts were inadvertently revealed when she tightened her grip on the spoon. So it's Avery, huh? I won't
forgive anyone who gets in my way of becoming Mrs. Moore!
After dinner, Wisteria awkwardly gestured to a twenty-four-hour convenience store when they passed by one. “Mr.
Moore, do you mind stopping there for a bit? There's something I need to get.”
Even though Cayden was in a hurry to go home, he, like the gentleman he was, asked the driver to do as Wisteria
requested when he saw how anxious she was.
Not long after Wisteria hurried into the store, she came back out with a black plastic bag in hand.
The driver started the engine as soon as the woman returned to the car and sent her home.
Cayden had always been somewhat unobservant, so he did not notice that a pair of black lace panties, stripped of
its price tag and intentionally crumpled up, had been left under his car seat.
