James cued up the surveillance footage from earlier in the day.

Aurelia ran a hand through her hair, wincing as if in pain. "I was attacked by two female assassins today. We caught one, but the other's still at large. The one that got away is likely a hypnotist, the mastermind behind it all.
| got hypnotized, too, and can't remember a darn thing | did." She let out a heavy sigh. continuing, "Yuna was chasing down the assassin when the hypnotist approached me. | smelled a strange perfume in the air, and my head got all foggy, and then | blacked out. When | woke up, | was back in my room. Yuna said something had happened to Mr. Leopold." James scrolled back the surveillance footage, bringing up the afternoon's events in full view.
Megan's heart skipped a beat. Jewel had mentioned that the footage was modified, specifically to only show Aurelia serving coffee. So why was the earlier part still available? Swallowing hard, she struggled to keep her composure. "How can you prove you were under hypnosis?" Instead of answering, Aurelia retorted, "How did you know I've offered coffee to Leopold? You weren't there, and aside from the hypnotist who got to me, no one knows | brought Leopold that coffee." Megan had anticipated this question and had her response ready. "I reviewed the surveillance." James looked surprised as he said, "As soon as Mr. Leopold was found sick, our security team secured all footage to prevent tampering. When did you access it?" Megan tried to stay calm and replied, "I was reviewing the footage for something else and just happened to see Aurelia bringing coffee to Leopold." Aurelia spoke slowly and deliberately, "So if you saw me offering coffee, you must've seen me get hypnotized, too. Why didn’t you mention that? Or are you in cahoots with the assassin To have poisoned Mr. Leopold and then framed me? Two birds with one stone!" Megan bristled, "Don't you dare slander me." "There was a motive for you to poison Mr. Leopold," Aurelia's voice held an icy edge. "Facing a looming divorce, love can quickly turn to hate. You might've sought to harm him in retaliation." Tanya interjected softly, "That's quite an accusation, Aurelia. Megan loves Leopold. Besides, she's carrying his child. How could she possibly harm him?" Aurelia countered, "Then what reason would | have? He's the father of my child, who still needs his protection. If something happened to him, the assassin's next target would be my son." Megan glared. "He's the father of my child, too. I'd never let my baby be born fatherless!" Aurelia scoffed, "Mr. Leopold decided that your baby be sent abroad for upbringing after birth, not returning until my son turned eighteen. That could drive you to murder. Plus, the Stirling family has denied your status as his lawful wife. It means you will lose everything in a divorce, which is enough to drive you mad with rage." Megan's face alternated between pale and flushed. "You're framing me. | love Leopold. | can't live without him.

I'd never hurt him. | would die for him if | could." With that, she burst into tears.
Tanya wrapped an arm around her. "| believe Megan wouldn't harm Leopold. We need evidence for any claim, and nothing shows she has anything to do with the assassin right now. But Aurelia, you did serve coffee to Leopold." "Was the coffee tested?" Aurelia inquired.
James shook his head. "The cup was washed. No way to check for poison residue." Megan was totally speechless.
