Aurelia flashed a warm smile and handed him a cup of fruit tea, "Once Nova gets a bit older, she'll be able to join in the fun with the rest." As she spoke, she paused and asked, "Did you get a chance to see Nova today?" "No, | came straight here from the studio," Arnold replied casually.
"You know, today's Children's Day. Shouldn't you get her a little something?" Aurelia prodded.
"She's too young to understand what Children's Day is." "Regardless, this is her very first one, and as her dad, you really should mark the occasion with a gift." Aurelia looked at him earnestly, and he couldn't help but chuckle, "Alright, I'll have my assistant take care of it." After taking a sip of his fruit tea, Arnold lowered his voice and asked, "Would you care this much if it were Leopold and Megan's child?" His heart sank like a stone in a pond.
He was scared that her pushing him toward Lisa and Nova meant she no longer cared for him.
"Not at all," Aurelia said without hesitation, "Lisa is a good woman. Sure, she's made some missteps, but her heart is in the right place. She's never hurt me and has always been kind to William. Megan, on the other hand, has consistently tried to do us harm. If she harmed Kane, I'd make sure she got a taste of her own medicine." As she spoke, she lifted her gaze to meet his, "I care for Nova because she's your daughter. | want to love her as my own, just as you do for William." Those words lifted Arnold's spirits like a buoy to the surface of the water.

If they were to marry, Nova would be her child too.
He thought, "Love me, love my dog." She did care about him, which was why she was willing to accept Nova.
William came running over.
"Daddy, | won a cotton candy orchid doll." Arnold affectionately ruffled his hair, "You're amazing." He beamed with pride, "I gave it to Nellie." As they were talking, Arnold's phone rang. It was Lisa.
"Arnold, Nova seems to have a fever, and she's been spitting up her milk." "Have you been to the hospital?" "Not yet." "Take her with the nanny. I'll come by as soon as | can." Arnold ended the call.
Aurelia, having glimpsed the caller ID, suggested, "That was Lisa, wasn't it? Maybe you should head over and check on Nova." "It's nothing urgent," Arnold said lightly, picking up William, "Let's go play some laser tag, how about that?" "Sure!" William nodded, wrapping his arms around Arnold's neck.
Aurelia didn't press further and joined them in their game.
Kane and the other kids grabbed their toy laser guns.
"Let's see who's the sharpshooter," they challenged each other.
As the afternoon sun began to wane, a servant brought over freshly squeezed juices for the children.

While Aurelia sipped her juice, her phone buzzed with a message.
Glancing at it, she saw it was from Lisa.
[Aurelia, is Arnold with you?] [He's been busy setting up for a photo exhibition. Just stopped by for a bit. We're having a Children's Day party for the kids. | was thinking of inviting Nova to play with her older siblings, but she's still too little, might not handle it well.] Aurelia replied.
[Nova's sick, running a fever, and throwing up milk. | just took her to the doctor.] [I'll let Arnold know right away so he can head over.] Aurelia sighed to herself. Lisa's call to Arnold must have been to inform him about Nova's illness, hoping he could be there.
"Arnold," she spoke up, "I just messaged Lisa to see what she was up to, and she mentioned Nova's sick. You should go check on her. Nova's so young, and being ill is no small matter. Lisa must be scared, handling it all alone."
