Chapter 459 Design Collaboration
There was no turning back. Everything was beyond fixing now.
Michael knew it was too late for regrets.
Emily would never accept his love again, and even if they tried to patch things up, it would be nearly impossible
to go back to the way things were.
Looking at Mason, Michael could only muster a bitter smile.
Mason saw this and sighed inwardly.
Even though he was skilled at manipulating people, how could he bear to use his schemes on Emily? She had
been part of the Smith family for so many years, almost like his own granddaughter.
Mason also understood that he was getting old and would eventually leave this world. He didn't care much about
others, his only concern was his grandson and granddaughter.
Initially, Mason wanted to get involved in Michael and Emily's affairs, even considering using his authority to
force Emily to stay in the family.
No one understood better than Mason that if Michael had a gentle and capable wife like Emily by his side, his
future would only get better, and his career would flourish.
Unfortunately, it was Michael who didn't cherish her, and Sophia who destroyed their relationship.
No matter how much he tried to turn things around or how many good words he said to Emily, it still couldn't
heal the wound from a single hurtful look or word from Michael.
Now, Mason increasingly felt that he could only pave the way as best as he could, but Michael and Veda's future
was something they had to navigate themselves.
After all, he couldn't teach them everything. Slessons could only be learned through experience.

Michael stayed at the Smith Mansion that night because he hadn't had a good night's sleep in a long time.
For sreason, Michael didn't want to disturb Emily.
He just wanted to give her sspace, and give himself sspace too, so they could both calm down and
think things through.
But Michael hadn't let go of the matter with Sophia. He still had Andrew secretly monitoring that venomous
woman, ready to report any suspicious activity.
Unfortunately, what Michael could think of, Sophia had already anticipated.
After all, this wasn't her first tcausing trouble, and her counter-surveillance skills were formidable.
To avoid getting into trouble with the Emerald City police again, Sophia had been staying obediently in her hotel
for several days, not even going to her studio. Only Dean was coming and going, sometimes to the studio,
sometimes to entertainment
venues.
One day, Andrew followed Dean all the way to JM Jewelry Company, which happened to be Emily's first day back
at work.
So Andrew quickly called Michael.
"Hello, I'm looking for the person in charge here," Dean said to the receptionist..
He was here to discuss a project, and JM Jewelry Company was well-known in Emerald City.
As for Emily?
Dean had no idea she was the person in charge, so when they met, he was very surprised, stammering several
times before he could speak clearly.
Emily saw this and responded with a smile, "What? Didn't expect to seehere?"
Emily had only stayed in the hospital for a few days before being discharged as soon as possible.

One reason was that Penelope had to go abroad for a few days, and there was no one to oversee the
headquarters. Penelope didn't trust anyone else with the responsibility.
So Emily's return was a big help to Penelope.
Penelope was so pleased that she handed over the management authority to Emily.
That's why the receptionist had directed Dean to Emily's office.
Seeing a pregnant Emily so capable, sitting in an office as large as his brother Archibald's, Dean suddenly saw
her in a new light. He smiled, but it was unclear whether it was a smile of admiration or mockery.
In any case, it was ambiguous.
Emily didn't care what Dean thought of her.
After all, this man was closely associated with Sophia, so he probably didn't have a good impression of her either.
With Sophia's silver tongue, she could twist the truth and confuse anyone.
Michael had fallen for it before, and Emily had suffered because of it.
Thinking of this, Emily also managed a bitter smile, then got back to business with Dean.
"So, are you here to look at jewelry? Or to discuss a collaboration with Ms. Blair? If it's the latter, you'll have to
wait another week. Her flight is next Wednesday. You can leave your contact information."
Emily's demeanor at work was indeed very different from her usual gentle appearance. Dean, being an adult,
made sjudgments based on what he saw.

Emily didn't seem like the opportunistic, gold-digging vixen Sophia had described. On the contrary, she seemed
like a self-reliant, career-oriented woman, more like a partner to Archibald. No wonder Michael had gone crazy at
the police station for her. This was getting more interesting.
Seeing Emily's questioning look, Dean smiled and explained. "No need. I'm here today to inquire about a piece of
jewelry."
With that, Dean opened his phone and showed Emily a picture.
"I really like this design from your company, so I'd like you to introduceto the designer."
"Don't worry, | have no intention of poaching. I just want to meet them, and then | can discuss the design with
them instead of you; so we don't have to make each other uncomfortable, right?
"Also, after talking to them, I'd still like to meet Ms. Blair. As you said, we can collaborate. I'll pay for it and have
the designer create a new version for our studio's main product. Then we can release it as a co-branded piece
with JM Jewelry Company."
Dean's explanation was accompanied by the sparkling image of the jewelry on his phone.
Emily looked at it, and the dazzling diamond ring with a deep royal blue sapphire in the center caught her eye.
The rich, pure color seemed to hold endless wisdom and
power.
Surrounding the sapphire were brilliant diamonds, each meticulously cut and polished, shining brightly and
creating a magnificent and solemn image.
It was one of Emily's favorite pieces.
And it was also one of her most satisfying works.
Indeed, the design Dean showed was one Emily had personally completed. When it
was first finished, it caused quite a stir in Emerald City, and Emily gained significant recognition.
But Dean was from Everglade City, so it wasn't surprising he didn't know.
