While the two women were quarreling a few yards away, Jeremy and Jason remained where they were, staring at each other.
Jason was undoubtedly surprised to see Jeremy. After all, he had been missing for three years! After snapping out of his shock, he narrowed his eyes and said, "It's been a while, Jeremy." Jeremy's eyes remained calm, as did his tone when he asked, "Do | know you?" Jason smiled. "So you did lose your memory." Jeremy did not bother to comment on that. Instead, he glanced at where Corinne and Sophia were talking.
Jason, too, turned to look at Corinne. "We've been so worried about you for the past three years. But | see we didn't have to. You look like you're living a really good life. You even started a new family!" A subtle hint of mockery flashed across Jeremy's eyes. "Who's 'we'?" "Corinne and I, of course! And your other family and friends," answered Jason with a coy smile.

Jeremy narrowed his eyes. "Do the two of you often stay in contact?" Jason shrugged and smiled. "Yeah. | mean, it's not easy for Corinne to raise so many kids alone. She needs to have a man by her side! I'd go over to keep her company and babysit the kids whenever I'm free." Jeremy's eyes immediately beca shade darker, though his face remained expressionless.
"Jeremy, how can you still be jealous when you've already lost your memory? Plus, you have no right to be jealous since you're together with Sophia," joked Jason with a smile.
Jeremy swept his cold gaze across Jason's probing face. After a brief silence, he said, "You better take your friend hnow. My family and | have to go to the next destination." Jason kept his gaze fixed on him. He detected a hint of warning in Jeremy's tone. After thinking about it, he walked up to Sophia and Corinne.
Benjamin stood quietly beside Jeremy. He wanted so badly to throw his arms around Corinne but he remembered Jeremy telling him he should not make any intimate gestures with Corinne when Sophia was there. Thus, he stood obediently by his side.
Corinne and Sophia were still bickering with each other when Jason walked up to them with a smile and stood between them. "Corinne, what are you two talking about? It sure is taking up a long time!" he said.
