Lucy, who had been standing by, straightened up. She did not know what had happened but out of habit, she grabbed Sherman's car keys and followed them downstairs. She believed he would need them. Sure enough, Claire had parked her car in the underground parking lot and it sped off as soon as she got in. She was headed to New Capital Times to confront Rita.
Sherman was at a loss, but Lucy happened to get out of the elevator at elevator that moment. As she ran over with the car keys, he said gratefully, "You're getting a raise at the end of the year."
Even the usually composed Lucy could not help but smile shyly upon hearing the news of a promotion and g the news o a raise. She had worked so hard to secure her position, all for the year-end bonus.
