She took deep breaths before summoning her courage to speak. “Mr. Kieran, can you help me find a towel?”

Kieran sounded surprised. “There aren’t any towels in the bathroom?”

“No.”

Speechless, Kieran rose to his feet and made his way to the closet by the bed.

He opened the closet to see hangers, disposable slippers, towels, bathrobes, and shower caps inside it.

“I found them. Do you want a towel or a bathrobe?” he asked.

Inez thought about it and responded, “I want both! I’m freezing.”

“Okay. Do I bring them to you now?”

“No!” she exclaimed instinctively.

But if he doesn’t bring them to me, how can I step out of the bathroom?

A brief struggle later, she tried to reason with Kieran. “Mr. Kieran, can you come over with your back to me? Don’t

peek, and hand the towel and bathrobe to me from a distance.”

“Okay.”

Kieran obediently grabbed a towel and a bathrobe before walking in reverse to the bathroom.

However, he’d occasionally peek to confirm he was going in the right direction.

To his utter shock, the bathroom’s walls were transparent, although partially obscured by the mist from the water

vapor.

Through the hazy veil, he caught a glimpse of Inez’s curvaceous yet slender body and her fair skin.

The blurry but sexy scene made his imagination run wild.

The tips of his ears turned red, and Kieran could feel the heat rising in his cheeks. He found himself swallowing

nervously, unable to hide his anxiety,

Inez was also nervous. She stood unmoving in the bathroom.

She certainly did not anticipate their first date to be this eventful. It turned out to be an unforgettable experience,

etching itself in her memory.

As Kieran’s hands reached through the gap of the door, offering her the towel and bathrobe, Inez swiftly grabbed

them from him. She quickly wrapped the towel around herself and put on the bathrobe, ensuring she was fully

covered.

This was their first date, and she didn’t want Kieran to assume she was a loose woman

bathroom.

Inez stood outside with her back to him as she dried her hair with the hairdryer.

Only a transparent door that didn’t have a lock stood between them.

Kieran was extremely nervous inside as Inez could see his naked body in full view if she were to turn around. It was

really embarrassing.

He steeled himself and quickly took a five–minute shower to clear his mind.

After washing up, they both got into bed.

The bed was pretty wide, so they slept on separate sides as though there was an invisible line between them.

No one took the initiative to step across the boundary.

Ding!

Inez found it difficult to fall asleep, so the notification on her phone provided a welcome distraction from the

lingering awkwardness in her heart.

When she reached for the nightstand, she came across something strange.

Picking it up, she recognized that it was a box of condoms.

Inez was rendered speechless.

Did he intentionally place those items there? Is he hinting that he wants to have ser? But why isn’t he getting closert

Does he expect me to take the initiative? He’s the one who asked me out and booked this hotel room. Could he be

expecting me to make the first move in this situation?

Inez’s mind came up with one hundred possibilities a few seconds after she spotted the box of condoms.

Another notification sounded, pulling her out of her reverie.

She gripped the box of condoms tightly and reached out for her phone again. Unlocking her phone, she proceeded

to check the texts she had received from her mother.

Madelyn: So? Which base are you at now? You should be at the hotel by now, right?

Madelyn: My darling daughter, have you both done the deed? Reply to me once you read this!

Rolling her eyes, Inez silently typed out a reply: No.

Madelyn’s reply soon arrived.

Madelyn: What do you mean by “no?” Did you not go to the hotel? Or did you not have sex? Seriously? You’re both

adults. Why do you keep making me worried? Mr. Kieran is shy and spends all his time doing his medical research.

He has no experience at all, so you should take the initiative! Listen to me. It isn’t embarrassing to make the first

move!

Inez was at a loss for words.

If possible, she wanted to turn back time and pick another mother who wasn’t Madelyn.

While she was raging internally, Kieran’s phone rang.

It was a call from Treyton.

When the call connected, Treyton’s eager voice rang out. “How did it go, Kieran? Did you do everything I told you to

do?”

Kieran grunted in acknowledgment.

Treyton seemed displeased. “What was that grunt? Did you succeed or not? You two are engaged, and you’re not

getting any younger. You should hurry up and get married! If you keep delaying, things might fall apart!”

Kieran suppressed his anger and remained silent for a moment before responding. “Got it.” He then quickly ended

the call.

When he placed his phone back on the nightstand, he suddenly realized that he hadn’t put the box of condoms

back into his pocket.

He fumbled around but couldn’t find them.

Did I sleep on the wrong side? I should’ve slept on the other side. Did Inez see the things I left there?

They remained with their backs turned to each other, both feeling tormented.

After about five minutes, they each took a deep breath, gathering the courage to ask the questions that weighed on

their minds.

They turned around at the same time.

“Mr. Kieran.”

They called each other’s names at the same time, their gazes locking in an awkward stare.

Kieran said, “You can go first.”

Inez forced herself to keep smiling and brandished the box of condoms. “Mr. Kieran, did you leave something on my

nightstand?”

Did she see it?

He blinked continuously. “Inez, don’t take this wrongly. I didn’t mean anything else when I bought them. If you don’t

want to do it, I won’t force you.”

Seeing his flaming cheeks, Inez suddenly didn’t feel that anxious anymore.

She burst into giggles and waved the box teasingly. “Oh? You didn’t mean anything else? Then why did

you buy one box of it?”

Kieran didn’t know what to answer. Do they sell this in single packets?

Inez couldn’t help but find his baffled expression adorable. She covered her lips and giggled, tossing the box back to

him in a lighthearted manner.

“You asked me out for a date and reserved this hotel room. You can decide what to do tonight.”

It was clear what she meant–she had agreed to have sex.

However, Kieran was too nervous and embarrassed to read between the lines. He quickly grabbed the box and hid

it away.

Inez’s smile disappeared and was replaced by fury as she noticed his guilty expression and realized he had no

intention of making the first move.

Did he not get my hint? Why is he still this dense? Did he really place the box of condoms on my nightstand so I can

make the first move?

The more she pondered over it, the more furious she got. In a fit of rage, she stuck her leg out to deliver a kick in

his direction.

They were too far away, and she failed to estimate the distance. As a result, her foot came into contact with his

groin.

With a grunt, Kieran recoiled abruptly, his hand instinctively covering the spot where she had kicked him. He stared

at her in shock, taken aback by her sudden aggression.
