Cynthia, in particular, always thought that Leon wanted to curry favor with their Shears, but he did not expect
anything in return even though Leon gave his all to cure her grandmother's illness. More importantly, he did not
avail himself of that opportunity to try and establish ssort of connection with the Shears.
