Seeing that Guido was about to snap under Iris’s pressure, Michael immediately knew that there was no other
way out of this.
He took a step forward in Iris’s direction and got on both his knees. “It was me, Miss Young! | was the one
who ordered Mister Boyd to do this!” he declared.
Since there was no going back from this, he was willing to shoulder all the blon his own to protect
Ashwin.
After all, he would rather only one of them get in trouble than both!
Besides, Ashwin was an influential character in the business world, and he was certain that Ashwin owing
him a favor would cin handy in the future.
Even if Iris fired him right then and there, Ashwin would probably be able to find him a new job easily!
“It was you? How dare you, Michael!” Iris was fuming at this point.
Michael fell silent. He knew that no amount of explaining would be able to change his fate, so he decided to

“Keep your head on, Iris. Michael and Mister Boyd are about the slevel, so | don’t think he’d be able to order
Mister Boyd around just like this. I'm certain that there is someone else behind all this!” Ariel said, sneering.
Then, she glanced meaningfully at Ashwin, who was still cowering behind Michael.
She knew that Ashwin and Leon had their differences and that Ashwin was deliberately trying to trip Leon up
all this while. Therefore, she did not need to be a genius to figure out Ashwin was probably the mastermind
behind this!

Iris seemed to realize this too, so she quickly regained her composure and added, “Michael, tellwho ordered

“No one did! This was all my idea!” Michael replied as calmly as he could.
Ashwin let out a small sigh of relief when he heard this and immediately shot Michael a grateful glance.

spill the beans annoyed her greatly.
“Why did you do this to Leon, Michael?” Iris asked, staring coldly at Michael.
The truth was, she was having the ssuspicions as Ariel, but since this whole event was beginning to spiral
out of control, she decided it was more sensible to take care of this matter right then and there.
“That's because Leon is Ariel's boyfriend! Everyone in the company knows that | have a crush on her, and | only
stand a chance with her if | first get rid of all my competitors!” «
