When Brandon got back to the office, Kent, who had arrived earlier, was already worried and cup to meet him.

"Mr. Crawley and Mrs. Crawley are looking for you."

Kent said, glancing towards the conference room next to them.

Through the open door of the office, Brandon could see Daniel and Patricia inside.

Daniel looked pretty ticked off, probably over Patricia getting the boot.

Patricia was putting on her best smile, trying to smooth things over.

Brandon walked over.

As soon as Daniel saw Brandon, he couldn't hold back his anger. "Did you have your mom fired?"

"Yes," answered Brandon, calm and to the point.

His coolness only made Daniel even more enraged. "Who gave you the authority?"

"Employee Handbook, Chapter 3, Section 5 - three consecutive days of no-shows or five total days within a year, and the company

has the right to let you go."

Brandon looked at Daniel, "And it's not just her, I'm pretty sure you've skipped out more than five times yourself."

Patricia quickly grabbed Daniel to calm him down.

She wasn't there to start a fight with Brandon today.

She still hoped to peacefully coexist with Brandon, who she had watched grow up, so she squeezed out a smile and said, "Brandon,

are you upset because | talked to Sophia yesterday? | didn't mean to go to her, it just happened."

"It's got nothing to do with her."

Brandon cut her off, "But since you've brought it up, let's make things crystal clear. Whether or not Sophia and | are divorced, it

doesn't mean she's open season for bullying and humiliation. If | find out any of you have gone behind my back to mess with her or

give her the cold shoulder, | won't care about family ties, and you'll have no one to blbut yourselves for my ruthless

response."

Brandon looked at Patricia and Daniel, "Anyone who crosses me, I've got plenty of ways to deal with them."

Daniel was fuming, speechless.

Patricia was patting his back, trying to help him catch his breath.

Brandon didn't bother with them anymore and turned to leave.

Kent looked hesitantly at Brandon's retreating figure, then back at Daniel and Patricia.

Patricia was softly persuading Daniel, "Don’t let this wreck your health, we can talk it out."

She added, "With the Zenithan-style resort project kicking off, we'll be tied up anyway. Cool off before we talk."

When the words "Zenithan-style resort project” hit his ears, Brandon paused for a moment, then continued on calmly.

Once back in his office, Brandon called Don to check on the project's progress.

Don told him that Patricia had already signed off on the contract and that the project was moving along steadily.

Patricia didn't have many changes to suggest. She was quite pleased with Sophia's design proposal.

The proposal was still being tweaked according to the direction Brandon had provided.

From what Don said, Brandon gathered that Daniel and Patricia didn't know who the designer was.

"Let Patricia and my dad handle the project for now," Brandon said, "No need to stress who the designer is."

"Alright."

Don also didn't want to stir up trouble by bringing up the designer at this point.

After hanging up with Brandon, Don went to Sophia to get an update on the proposal.

Brandon had provided very specific feedback, and Sophia had nearly finished making the changes. She sent the revised design to

Don just before clocking out and then hurried off for the day.

She was moving that evening, not that she had much to pack, just a suitcase, but with two places to set up, there was plenty of

shopping to do.

Waiting for the elevator, Sophia inevitably bumped into Brandon coming down to see Don.

Brandon was inside the elevator, Sophia at the elevator door; when the doors slid open, they unavoidably cface to face.

Sophia clutched her purse chain, saw Brandon's stern face, and involuntarily pursed her lips in polite acknowledgment, then

stepped aside to make way for him.
