Brandon didn't say much more.
When he bought the tickets, he chose the matinee for kids, an animated movie, and only got three tickets.
"I'm not treating you to a cartoon," Brandon said, turning to look at Kent. "You're on your own."
Kent just blinked. "..."
"Consider this a rare opportunity. Don't say your boss didn't give you a day off," Brandon said, patting Kent on the shoulder before
walking over to Sophia and Theresa.
Susan cup to them as well.
Brandon gestured with the tickets towards Kent. "Kent's still getting his tickets. You and he can pick something for adults to watch.
I'm not treating you to a kids' cartoon."
Susan just gave him a blank stare. "..."
Brandon went ahead and picked up Theresa, letting her say goodbye to Susan and Kent, then headed into the theater with her and
Sophia.
He didn't rent out a private screening room or buy VIP tickets; it was just a regular theater hall.
Follow on NovᴇlEnglish.nᴇtHe wanted Theresa to experience life like everyone else, feeling the ordinary joys rather than starting out with the advantages that
money brings.
Plus, watching a movie is more fun with a crowd.
The theater was quite packed, mostly with parents and their kids.
It was Theresa's first tat the cinema, her first movie experience, and she was fascinated by everything. She was bubbling with
excitement and curiosity, frequently tugging on Sophia and Brandon's hands to whisper questions about what was happening on
the big screen.
At her age, she didn't have the cognitive ability to fully graspplex plots. She was just there for the visuals and toprehend
ssimple storylines. But that didn't dampen her excitement one bit.
Sophia was also watching intently.
Only Brandon seemed a bit distracted. His fingers subconsciously fiddled with the string of beads in his hand, his mind preoccupied
with something.
This preoccupation lingered on into the evening.
Theresa's boundless energy only lasted through the first half of the movie. By the second half, she couldn't resist the sleepiness
and dozed off, only to wake up vibrant and lively again after the movie ended, clamoring to go to the grocery store.
Brandon and Sophia took her to the supermarket, grabbing sgroceries to cook dinner at home.
Theresa, having previously experienced cooking with her parents, eagerly helped carry the groceries once they got hand
darted into the kitchen to assist, her excitement palpable.
Brandon and Sophia didn't dampen her enthusiasm, letting her join in the kitchen fun.
When it was tfor dinner, the meal that was supposed to be a private family affair was crashed by Kent and Susan, who showed
up uninvited.
"Can't you guys just have a dinner or catch a movie on your own?" Brandon asked, looking at the unexpected guests with a hint of
annoyance.
"Nothing beats a meal cooked by the boss himself," Kent said unabashedly, shoveling a large forkful of spaghetti into his mouth.
"How many people in the world get to taste a meal made by their boss?"
" f
