Waking up this morning felt different from the other days since the party to welcme into the pack. It had
been three days and now I finally felt like | was becoming more like myself again. This all-consuming want for
Griffin was no longer the only thing on my mind. | would never not be attracted to my mate. Only now | felt
nervous about the upcoming trial with Hannah. | felt hungry and in need of a shower.
Not a short cold shower to regain sof my senses just to be able to have a meal without wanting to jump
Griff’s bones. No, wanted a long hot shower or maybe even a bath. To wash the smell of days of lovemaking off
me. A shower or bath that would warm my sore muscles. | meant the heat was coming to an end and | was
happy about it. No matter how much | enjoyed being cooped up in our little bubble of love and lust.
We had other things to worry about, the pack had not only acceptedinto their pack. Their hand family.
They had acceptedto be their next ruler alongside Griffin when the twas right. It was an honor, | hadn't
been willing to take on for a long time. Now | could finally see it for what it was. A gift, one | should treasure
dearly. And to do so | needed to be the best ruler | could be and continuously give my all to the pack.
The trial for Hannah filledwith nerves and | wish it was something | could skip. But | knew it wasn’t as for the
rest of my tasks and

obligations now. | was eager to restraining with Isabella. To start helping my people as their future Luna and
Queen. And to finally find myself a Gemma. Jessa had been kind enough to offer her services, but | could tell her

housekeeper and a stay-at-hmom.
That is why | declined her offer it wouldn't be fair to any of us. Not on Jessa who would then spend a large part of
her life in a job she did not. want. Not onbecause | would always feel guilty about forcing my best friend into
doing something she didn’t want to. And not on the pack and the country who deserved a Gemma who was all
in. Someone who wanted this job to helptake care of the pack.
Her father Theo had been a homemaker by choice. That is why we spent most of our childhood there. When she
offeredto becmy Gemma | reminded her of that and told her she should just expect all our pups to hang
around their has the rest of us were working leading the country. Adding in the would have the hardest job
out of all of them. At the tit was a joke, to make her feel better about not helping out as she put it. Now I laid
my hands down on my stomach because that fantasy might beca reality much sooner.
“Did you feel anything, you shouldn't be able to already right?” | hadn't noticed Griffin walk in with our coffees
just as | was cradling my
stomach.
Another sign that the heat was dwindling, seeing | was not hyper- focused on Griffin anymore.

“No | am not, just thinking about the fact that | might very well be pregnant now” | smiled at Griffin. The heat
may have cmuch sooner than either of us expected.
We both have always wanted a big family, | wanted at least three pups. Probably because of how happy | was
growing up with a younger brother and sister. We all had our own friends, but still, we had an inseparable bond.
Even now that we had grown up we still did. Sure we didn’t live in the shouse anymore and we did not
speak to each other daily. Not even Dan andeven though we lived in the spack. Still, | know without a
doubt in my mind that they would always be there forwhen | needed them too. As | would for them.
“It seems like you are feeling more like yourself today?” Griffin asked as he settled in the bed next to me.
| nodded taking a sip of my coffee just being content with sitting so close to him this time. Not feel the need to
practically crawl in his lap to get as much physical contact as | could.
“I am | think we can spend today getting our bearings, looking at all the gifts we have gotten. And let the pack
know we will be back to our usual work starting tomorrow?” | suggested being met with his bright smile as he
agreed with me.
We both know that if push cto shove we would have been able to get back to the grind today if it was
needed. Luckily we were in the calm before the storm, as it was good to have a day together. Where we could

just enjoy each other's company. Let the effect of the heat slowly wane. Not to mention that | had seen the
ridiculous amount of offerings we had. The list of meals Griffin had kept that were brought to us. | wanted to
write to each and every pack member who left us a gift. Either as a welcto the pack gift or as a blessing for
our heat a handwritten thank you note.

A sincere thank you, both because my pack deserved so. And secondly to show them the kind of leader | was
going to be to them. | had seen firsthand the damage an arrogant leader who values themselves above their
pack could do. It leftdetermined to show my pack, our pack, that | was their equal. We all had a role to play
in this pack and this country’s dynamic. While mine was a heavy burden to carry, it was not the only role of
importance. The strength in a pack, in a country, lies. with its weakest link. There was only one Luna, One
Queen, but there were dozens of warriors and pack doctors and even more omegas., Their voice could grow
louder than just my voice.
“Let's enjoy one last meal made for us by Milo, and then maybe we can have breakfast in the pack kitchen
tomorrow?” Griffin suggested. showingwe were both on the slevel.
Like me, he wanted to show our pack, our people that we were one of them. And joining the pack breakfast after
having been cooped up for four days was a great sign of showing them that we missed pack life. And we're
happy to be able to be included in it once again. Now though | was going to take a long hot bath before enjoying
another breakfast that Milo made us. He had been the one to make us wonderful meals during these three days.
Even on his days off. Other pack members had just left

him a thank you note but thank him in person too. Before | could though we would need to sort through all the
other gifts we were given.
