Chapter 262 The Snake and the Truth

Chapter 262 The Snake and the Truth

Molly suddenly seemed to recall something. She gripped Madam Tessa’s hand tightly and spoke hesitantly,

“Ma’am... | think Mr. Lucas went into Ms. Aubrey’s room today...”

Sloane immediately turned to her, eyes sharp. “Molly, did he eat or drink anything in there?”

Molly shook her head. “I... don’t know. He was always alone with Madam Aubrey when he visited...”

“I need to check the villa,” Sloane said, wasting no time. She turned and made her decision on the spot- she had

to find the source of the poison.

“I'm coming with you,” Samson said, stepping forward without hesitation.

Back at the villa, Sloane wasted no time. She flicked her wrist, and from her sleeve slid a small, vividly colored

snake.

Samson stared in stunned silence as it slithered down her arm, but didn’t question it-he just followed closely

behind her..

Sloane gently patted the snake's head. “Snowball, I'm counting on you.”

Coiled lightly around her wrist, the little snake flicked its tongue and darted its head around, sensing faint traces

of poison in the air.

Samson leaned in and whispered, “Sloane... that snake... it can actually find the source?”

Sloane nodded, eyes never leaving the snake's movements. “Snowball is extremely sensitive to toxins. If there's

even a trace, it'll find it.”

Snowball didn’t pause on the first floor. It lifted its head and pointed toward the stairs-signaling for them

to go up.

Guided by the snake, Sloane climbed to the third floor.

The moment they arrived, Snowball slid from her wrist and glided across the floor. It moved quickly- then

stopped right at Madam Aubrey’s door. It coiled slightly and let out a soft hiss.

Sloane's eyes narrowed. Her voice dropped into a frigid tone. “Open the door.”

The buder quickly ordered the staff to unlock it.

The door swung open. Madam Aubrey sat by the window, sipping tea, her expression cold and composed. When

she saw Sloane, Samson, and several others enter unannounced, her face twisted in anger.

“What are you doing?! Who said you could barge in here? Get out!”

Sloane didn’t even acknowledge/the outburst. Her sharp eyes swept the room as Snowball glided inside and

made a beeline toward Madam Aubrey.

The moment the older woman spotted the colorful snake, her face went pale, her voice trembling in panic. “Wh-

what is that?! Get it away from me!”

Snowball ignored her shrieking and calmly slithered toward her feet, curling slightly and hissing softly again.

Madam Aubrey sprang up in fear, stumbling back to the wall, shrieking, “Get away from me! Don’t cnear!”

Sloane stared at her, voice icy. “Madam Aubrey, Snowball doesn’t bite. It senses poison-and right now, it senses

it on you. If you don’t want it to get closer, you'd better tellwhat you did to Lucas.”

Pressed against the wall, Madam Aubrey’s face drained of color. She tried to keep her composure, her tone

forced and brittle. “I-l don’t know what you're talking about! | didn’t do anything! This is slander!”

Sloane's expression turned colder, her voice like steel. “Snowball only reacts when there's poison. If it brought us

here, that means your room is the source of Lucas’s poisoning. | won't ask again-hand over the antidote.”
