Chapter 264 The Blood Oath
Chapter 264 The Blood Oath
“Got it,” Samson said, not pressing further.
Sloane clutched the shattered teacup fragment and raced back to the hospital. She knew the only way to save
Lucas was to identify the poison and craft an antidote from its source.
Inside the hospital, chaos had already erupted-Lucas had suddenly begun vomiting blood. The thick, black liquid
poured from his mouth, sending Benjamin and the others into a panic.
Fortunately, Sloane arrived in time. She immediately inserted several needles to stabilize him, and the bleeding
finally stopped.
But as she stared at the pool of black blood on the floor, her heart sank.
Madam Tessa, seeing that Lucas had finally stabilized for the moment, stepped forward anxiously. “Sloane, did
you find out what kind of poison it is?”
Sloane's face was grim. “I only confirmed that the poison cfrom Madam Aubrey’s room. But she refuses to
say what it is.”
“That wicked woman!” Madam Tessa trembled with rage. “How could she do such a thing? Lucas is her own son!”

calm exterior began to crack, fear clawing at her chest.
“You're right. Lucas comes first.” Madam Tessa gritted her teeth, then made a decision. “You stay here and do
what you can-I'll go deal with her myself.”
Sloane nodded. She didn’t stop her.
She split the teacup fragment into two samples and handed one to Benjamin. “Have this tested immediately.”
Benjamin took the fragment, frowning. “These compounds are too complex. Even with everything we have, the
earliest we'll get results is tomorrow...”
He didn’t need to say more. Lucas might not last that long.
Sloane clenched her fists, nails digging into her palms. | know, she thought bitterly. She forced herself to stay
composed. “Take it for testing. I'll stay with him.”
Once Benjamin left, Sloane sat alone in the room, keeping silent vigil by Lucas’s side.
But as midnight approached, his condition suddenly took a turn for the worse. His breathing turned shallow and
rapid, machines around him blaring in warning.
Sloane held his hand tightly, her chest twisting in agony as she felt his warmth fade away.
Benjamin and the others rushed in, pale with panic.
“Lucas! Lucas, wake up! Don’t scarelike this!” Benjamin shouted, gripping the edge of the bed.

At that moment, Madam Tessa returned, her efforts having failed. She collapsed onto the sofa, exhausted- and in
despair, her eyes brimming with tears. “Lucas... my poor grandson...”
But amid the panic, Sloane remained strangely calm. Her eyes flashed with resolution, and she turned to the
room full of people.
“Everyone-leave.”
The room fell silent.
Benjamin stiffened. He glanced at her expression, and something clicked. His voice shook with equal parts hope
and fear. “Sloane... do you have a way to save him?”
Madam Tessa surged forward, grabbing Sloane’s hands with trembling fingers. “Is it true? Is what Baichuan said
true? Do you really have a way?”,
Sloane didn’t answer. She simply repeated, “Get out. Now.”
Benjamin nodded and gently pulled Madam Tessa away.
Once everyone had left, Sloane locked the door behind them. She walked to the bed, lay beside Lucas, and
reached for his right hand.
With a calm, practiced motion, she sliced open his palm-and then made the scut across her own.
Outside, Samson and the others waited in unbearable suspense.
“What is she doing in there?” he muttered, pacing. “She’s been in there forever., I'm going out of my mind here.”
