Chapter 273 The Fight That Had to Happen
Chapter 273 The Fight That Had to Happen
Samson knew Lucas too well. Unless Lucas was ready to open up, no one could force him. With a long sigh,
Samson turned and left.
As Lucas stepped out of the elevator, his secretary quickly approached him. “Mr. Lucas, Mr. Larry is here. He's
waiting in your office.”
“I know.” Lucas’s tone was cool, and he didn’t slow his stride as he headed straight toward his office.
He pushed open the door. Larry was standing at the window, his back to the entrance. At the sound of the door
opening, Larry turned around, eyes sharp and filled with restrained fury.
“Lucas, you finally have the guts to show your face.”
Lucas gave him a passing glance and walked to his desk, setting down the file in his hand. His voice was flat.
“What do you want?”
Larry strode over, placing both hands on the desk and staring him down. “Where's Sloane?”
Lucas’s gaze cooled slightly but returned to calm just as quickly. He looked up and met Larry's eyes. “No
comment.”

voice. “Don’t play dumb. I looked into it before coming here. Three months ago, you were poisoned and nearly
died. You were discharged the next day, completely fine-but Sloane vanished. What did you do to her?”
Lucas’s eyes narrowed, his fingers curling against the edge of the desk. His voice remained cold, but a ripple of
emotion broke through. “That's between her and me. It's none of your business.”
“None of my business?” Larry's voice rose sharply, his tone dripping with contempt. “You're the last person who
deserves to say that. She saved your life more than once, and all you ever gave her in return was pain. Did she
get hurt saving you again? Is that why she’s gone? What the hell did you do?”
Lucas’s pupils contracted. Guilt and shsurged inside him, every word cutting deep. His face went pale, but it
was quickly buried beneath a rising fury. He stood up suddenly, voice low and deadly. “Say that again.”
Larry didn’t back down. He stepped closer, locking eyes with him. “I said-you don’t deserve her.”
That was the spark.
Lucas’s anger exploded. He grabbed Larry by the collar and growled, “Shut your mouth.”
But Larry only let out a cold laugly and wrenched Lucas’s hand off with a sharp twist. His eyes blazed with
accusation. “What? Did | hit a nerve? Getting angry because I'm right? Lucas, all you know how to do is hurt her.
What else have you ever done?”
Lucas’s eyes turned to ice. His fist tightened-and then he swung.
“You're asking for it.”

In an instant, the two men were brawling, fists flying without restraint. Papers, cups, and chairs scattered across
the office. The desk was knocked aside, furniture crashing to the ground.
Outside, the secretary heard the commotion and peeked through the door, alarmed. But she didn’t dare step in.
Instead, she hurried to call security.
Inside, Lucas and Larry fought with raw force, landing punches meant to vent every ounce of anger and
frustration they had held in for months.
