Sloane smiled. “You misunderstand, Dr. Bonnie. I'm here today for the free clinic.” She gestured for a bionic to
hand her a golden needle. “I never agreed to any competition.”
A flicker of malice flashed in Bonnie's eyes beneath the mask. She forced her anger down and said with false
magnanimity, “In that case, why don’t we each treat patients and let the results speak for themselves?”
Sloane's lips curved into a soft smile as her gaze drifted over the children waiting in line. “That suitsjust
