Chapter 1638 Tantrum

But he thought wrong. He thought it was Gary on the other end of the call, so Ian looked away and pursed his lips,

and his face fell.

Aurora didn’t notice that though. After they paid the bill for their meal, they came out, and Aurora looked at Ian.

“We should go home now.”

Ian left for home without saying a word.

Seeing this, Aurora sighed and turned to Cindy. “He seems angry.”

Cindy shared her sentiment. Since they had dated for a while now, Cindy knew what Ian was thinking at one glance,

and he was obviously unhappy.

The ladies trailed behind Ian, thereupon Aurora whispered, “Did we get on his nerves?”

Cindy shook her head. “It’s probably about the scandal online.” Nobody said anything to anger him just now. In fact,

they didn’t say a word during the second half of dinner, so there was no way Ian would get annoyed.

Ian didn’t say anything at all on the way home. All he did was walk ahead darkly. Cindy left him to his own devices

and chatted with Aurora.

Aurora was exhausted after coming home, so she told them good night and went to her room, leaving the young

couple in the living room. Without Aurora around, things started getting awkward. They didn’t look at each other,

but they didn’t know what else they could direct their gaze at.

A while later, Ian said, “You should get some sleep. I’ll watch some TV.”

He tried his best to sound calm, but Cindy could still hear the annoyance in his voice. However, she went to her

room without saying another word.

On the other hand, Ian went to the sofa, feeling restless. He used to be a different person; someone who could put

on a façade. He had to hide his true self since that was how he survived living with the Morgans. It then turned into

a habit, and he always put on a façade whenever he was around someone else, but now, he couldn’t keep that act

up anymore.

He knew he was being rude back at the restaurant, but he couldn’t help it. He just wanted to vent. Even after the

ladies were gone, he still wanted to vent. He wasn’t angry at anyone, but he just needed to let it out.

Ian leaned against the sofa. The TV was on, but he couldn’t concentrate. A while later, he went to wash his face,

and when he was on his way back to the living room, he stopped outside his room to hear what was happening

inside.

There was nothing, as if nobody was inside. Cindy was a quiet girl to begin with, so either she was resting, or she

was already asleep. Ian slowly relaxed and went to the couch to lie down. He was getting tired himself.

Cindy was sleepy. Too sleepy. She went to lie on the bed, but instead of covering herself with a blanket, she only

covered herself with her clothes. She thought she could organize her thoughts, but her exhaustion got the better of

her and she drifted to sleep.

It was already evening when she woke up. She didn’t have any dreams, so it was a good sleep. Cindy was groggy

when she woke up, so she sat on the bed for a while to regain her bearing. After sobering up, she wore her jacket

and went out.

She thought she had already slept long enough, but Aurora slept even longer seeing that she wasn’t even awake

yet. Ian was lying on the couch, apparently asleep. Not a soul was stirring in the house, save for Cindy. She tiptoed

toward Ian and saw him curled up on the big couch. In this state, he looked vulnerable.

Cindy stood beside the couch, looking down at him. Ian looked harmless when he was sound asleep, but whenever

he was awake, he had a knack for hurting people with his words.
