Chapter 1792 Discussion

The butler shook his heod ond lowered his voice. “No motter how you look ot it, Old Mr. Morgon fell to ruin ot their

honds.”

Ion slowly opened his eyes. I wonder if Dod reolly got destroyed by others, but I con’t soy for sure. Sometimes, we

tend to be foolish enough to dig our own groves.

Bryce himself decided to morry Leoh. Ion wosn’t sure of the circumstonce ot the time, but judging by the news

surrounding Bryce right now…

Well, I suppose my fother got whot he deserved.

“How hos Dod been these few yeors?” Ion osked the butler, since he wosn’t by his fother’s side for the post yeors.

The butler looked ot him. “His mentol condition wos getting worse, ond there weren’t mony people he could tolk

with. He would chot with me sometimes.”

At thot, the butler brought up something else. “He missed you o lot. He kept wondering how you were doing. He

soid thot you’re rotionol in your thoughts, so you probobly won’t be moltreoted. However, choosing not to fight over

something olso meons you’re missing out.”

In thot situotion, Bryce’s opinion of him wos not whot he wonted to heor. Bryce wos gone now, so getting told obout

this wouldn’t do onything to help. Insteod, he would just feel even worse.

Seeing Ion’s expression, the butler olso reolized thot he might hove soid too much. “Who would’ve thought thot o

lorge fomily like the Morgons would come to this?” He sighed fointly.

The butler shook his head and lowered his voice. “No matter how you look at it, Old Mr. Morgan fell to ruin at their

hands.”

Ian slowly opened his eyes. I wonder if Dad really got destroyed by others, but I can’t say for sure. Sometimes, we

tend to be foolish enough to dig our own graves.

Bryce himself decided to marry Leah. Ian wasn’t sure of the circumstance at the time, but judging by the news

surrounding Bryce right now…

Well, I suppose my father got what he deserved.

“How has Dad been these few years?” Ian asked the butler, since he wasn’t by his father’s side for the past years.

The butler looked at him. “His mental condition was getting worse, and there weren’t many people he could talk

with. He would chat with me sometimes.”

At that, the butler brought up something else. “He missed you a lot. He kept wondering how you were doing. He

said that you’re rational in your thoughts, so you probably won’t be maltreated. However, choosing not to fight over

something also means you’re missing out.”

In that situation, Bryce’s opinion of him was not what he wanted to hear. Bryce was gone now, so getting told about

this wouldn’t do anything to help. Instead, he would just feel even worse.

Seeing Ian’s expression, the butler also realized that he might have said too much. “Who would’ve thought that a

large family like the Morgans would come to this?” He sighed faintly.

Ian chuckled softly. He didn’t want to comment further, for he knew that the Morgans would fall to this level sooner

or later. Bryce wasn’t an honorable man, so he wouldn’t be able to protect the family property.

The butler, too, fell silent after speaking, and the two were soon enveloped in silence.

After a while, Sean walked over to them. No one could guess what had happened by the look on his face, but Ian

figured that even if Leah hadn’t gone to him, Sally or Simon would have. So, after Sean pulled up a chair and sat on

it, Ian immediately asked, “Who talked to you just now?”

Sean was stunned as he stared at Ian. “How did you know? Are you a fortune teller or an oracle?”

Ian chuckled. “Nothing of the sort. Leah talked to me just now, so I thought they’d go for you too.”

Sean sounded exasperated as he answered, “It’s Simon.”

Unexpectedly, Simon no longer sounded arrogant, and he had talked to Sean in an amicable tone. Still, Sean could

sense that Simon was trying to negotiate.

“Hmm… What did he ask you about?” Ian didn’t seem surprised.

Sean replied, “What else? The will, of course.”

Apparently, the thing Leah and her children were most concerned about now was the will and the property

distribution.

The butler couldn’t help but pipe up, “In all the years they’ve spent here, they did nothing but waste money. They

didn’t even contribute anything, and now they have the audacity to ask about the will.”

There was a smile in Sean’s voice, hinting that he had stopped minding such things. “Now that things have come to

this stage, they’re probably tired of hiding and pretending. After all, once this is over, we’ll never see each other

again, so they’re going all out.”

Hearing that, the butler seemed to have understood something.

Ian adjusted his position and looked toward Sean. “Did they ask you how Dad decided the distributions? They asked

you to drop hints, maybe?”

Sean grinned. “They asked me how much Dad left for them and how much was left for you.”

Ian immediately laughed. “Wow, they care about me so much.”

Sean was also a little frustrated. “I think they’re not bold enough to ask me, but they’re probably calculating how

much Dad left for me as well.”

This time, Ian just smiled as he stayed silent. After a while, the butler got up and announced that he would go and

check on the entrance. He wasn’t sure when the guests would start coming again.

Ian closed his eyes again. “I’ll nap for a little while longer. They probably won’t be so rude as to come so early on.”

Sean also found a spot and lay down.
